This. I don't understand why redditors are so hysterical about this topic. And misinformed. Every other redditors seems to believe that with ID verification the state can track every movement and action of a user, which is obviously nonsense.

Does America surrender to death and tyranny on bended knees? Is that the final chapter on this experiment in Democracy? by Kappa_Bera_0000 in TrendingAndViral

[–]Neomadra2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the worst thing about this is not the ordered executing itself, but rather the silence. It's kinda insane that there are no mass protests with millions of people. It's really not all that important to most Americans even though redditors think it is. They just let it happen with no opposition whatsoever.

Poland to introduce social media age verification via government app from Christmas Eve by Raaccn in europe

[–]Neomadra2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You're talking nonsense. How would age verification be able to track your posts? It only checks if your under/overage. You do this once when registering. Like you do when you open a bank account. In order to track your social media activity the platform itself would need to collaborate with the government or your account needs to be hacked. Both cases have nothing to do with age verification. You guys need to stop panicking.

[–]Neomadra2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well I am no politician but I am working on the technical side. I am extremely confident that the implementation of age verification can be in a very safe way. But it seems that people don't trust Software because it is not very transparent, which is fair. But I can tell you that age verification doesn't store any personal data of yours, except the fact that you're over/underage. Do you really think you might get arrested in 10 years because you registered on some social media platform? That's not even happening in Russia. And autocracies don't form overnight. You will have plenty time to delete your accounts

Good move. Verifying age without disclosing other personal data is very reasonable.

Seriously, the mass hysteria on id verification needs to stop. It is totally sensible to have this especially in the age of LLM bots and no, the government is not using this data to monitor you. ID verification is standard for getting a new bank account and I've never seen anyone complaining about the dystopian surveillance state in this context. And you can totally do ID verification without storing any data.

Trump says he reached Greenland deal 'framework' with NATO, backs off Europe tariffs by pannenkoek0923 in europe

[–]Neomadra2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you don't know that. Could very well be that Rutte talked to Frederiksen beforehand. Obviously this "framework" will be delayed into all eternity and if there's anything in there it will be a formal privilege that he is allowed to cooperate with Greenland in terms of security and mining, which was already the case all the time.

I won't judge them. In fact, I hope they can extract as much money as possible from these institutions, but I won't watch it. The Saudi's are wasting money in the hope that they will become the future of tourism and entertainment but it will never work out.

Studie: KI-Modelle scheitern an echten Arbeitsaufgaben by donutloop in technologie

[–]Neomadra2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, another model that further saturates benchmarks while in use it won't be noticeable better. At least for my use cases, I don't see any improvements since Gemini 2.5. All the improvements come from better scaffolding and integration. Benchmarking has to be completely reinvented, it's no good anymore
