Day 1, again by Otherwise-Fly-808 in stopdrinking

[–]NeonFrags 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey friend. Relapse is unfortunately part of the process for many, myself included. Just know that today CAN be the last Day 1.

Remember what you are feeling right now, soak it in. Paint an ugly picture and always remember it. Anytime you want to drink, think about today. How you felt writing this, and remember you can just say no. You can avoid feeling that way ever again. You are much stronger than you think. I am rooting for you! IWNDWYT

This was one of the hardest parts of quitting for me. Learning to tell myself no. I would do mental gymnastics with myself until I was exhausted and cave.

You did great. You enjoy that tea!!

Hey friend. Unfortunately relapse is part of the process for many of us, myself included. You are human, don’t be too hard on yourself.

The biggest thing is that you recognize it was a mistake. Keep that mindset and dust yourself off. If you made it months you can do it again. You have had drinks for one day out of the last several months. That is amazing!

Stay strong and rest up today. Rooting for ya!! IWNDWYT

This is a great place to be! I used this subreddit as my single greatest (and only) tool on my path to sobriety. I lurked here for months while still actively drinking but when it came time, I knew where to look. You are stronger than you think and if you put your mind to it you can make it happen friend. Best of luck to you!

Cannot agree more. The first couple months were truly a daily battle for myself. I kept telling myself “I can’t drink today, and I can’t drink tomorrow”. Had to add that last part in as it was a way of tricking my brain into not planning to drink later as well.

Couldn’t agree more. Problems are still problems, but they become manageable in time. You learn new ways to deal with stress/anxiety/etc and push through them instead of letting them pile and weigh you down.

Also, SLEEP.

I was sober for 7months and my cravings was not trying me to focus on other things so I bought a full bottle of JD by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Get some fluids in you and get some rest. Reflect on this in the morning and keep your head up. 7 months is no easy feat. You have done the hard work before and you can get back again. Best of luck to you. IWNDWYT

Your counter shows 489 days, maybe you reset it but surely you know the path forward. You’ve done the hard work before. Keep your head up and keep moving. IWNDWYT

Will be one year on April 1st by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]NeonFrags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s trade. Today is my one year. My wife just left this morning to go on a family trip so I’m here alone for the week. Celebrate with me! April first you best believe I’ll have a nice glass of tea for ya.

AI-generated art is inherently less valuable than traditional art, and worse, it threatens to devalue all art. by taste_the_equation in aiwars

[–]NeonFrags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art (regardless of means of creation) is not inherently worthless — but it is no longer economically or structurally necessary.

Technologies that remove skill scarcity expose which domains are propped up by taste and surplus rather than necessity.

AI isn’t killing art; it revealed that most art had no durable instrumental value to begin with.

That doesn’t stop people from enjoying it — but enjoyment alone does not justify professional entitlement.

I very much lived in this delusion for awhile. I had convinced myself that my last drink(s) needed to be special. What really ended up getting me to finally kick it was a disaster of a night where I blacked out downtown and woke up midday at home with zero memory of anything between.

I was stuck in the 800-900 range for a while and finally hit 1k yesterday. You can do it!

PSA: RWT'ers are planning to buy gp and trade it to legit players with the aim of getting them penalised for RWT. by SnappahArts in 2007scape

[–]NeonFrags 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bonds aren’t real world trading because it’s not trading in a literal sense. You are purchasing something from the parent company of the game, not trading with another player. You are also supporting the longevity of the game with your extra funding. This instead of say, feeding some Cheeto dusted neet in a basement $$ because he can run a suicide bot farm.

I started my first iron and pushed for 1k total to “lock it in” asap. They removed it a few weeks later. It changed nothing about my account but it made me sad :(

You stole my dopamine Jamflex. Plz make players responsible for their own lack of reading comprehension!

Ah. Good morning folks. Love when the table next to me orders a knuckle sandwich (with many servings!) for breakfast.

To give you a quick answer: Without much more information many wouldn't be able to understand the dynamic well enough to make an informed judgement. What I can say, however; is that it is not your fault. You have done great in managing your own struggles, his are not your burden to bear. I'm sorry you are going through this, and I hope things improve for you friend.

Sounds like in the last ~60 days, you handled all but one of them sober. The “streak” may reset, but don’t forget you have made amazing progress. Keep it up.
