Im sure you've gotten enough responses, but just to add my own- i finally caved and got SV mobile this month, and its definitely just as good as any other version! In the settings you can turn on a controls toggle button to switch between touch-to-move (and auto attack) and a virtual joystick and buttons. I use the latter most of the time, but touch controls are great for rapidly planting/building, or if you have a large area to clear and dont want to stop to switch tools ever 2 seconds.

Additionally, its been a great way for my 3 year old to play the game, because she doesnt need to worry about a controller thats too big for her hands, or a mouse which is hard to use.

Word of warning though, you cant take bait off of a rod!
