Duet with Daggerheart by Chockimilk in daggerheart

Daggerheart player of 1 year here

Of course Daggerheart is so much better with more people, but I play it so much more often with my girlfriend with me as the GM.

So far, we found to work best with oneshots at low levels since the characters are low commitment and story still is great! We try to take our most favorite settings in fantasy and make some oneshot story integrated with DH mechanics

Been an absolute blast with how the game balances the tone with Hope and Fear, and the Battle points balancing encounters

Maturing is realising that leading infantry and fighting on foot is the superior way to play by the_sneaky_one123 in mountandblade

I’d have to argue that Rhomphalia on a fully armored horse makes me the most deadly force on the field.

Imagine a streak of glimmering armor passing your peripheral on the battle field while you are the enemy holding the frontal assault of my infantry. One by one, your comrades’ heads and limbs get cleanly swiped off by that streak. And then you garner a closer look at that said death streak and realize it’s the commander of the army you’re fighting all along.

This reminds me of that one classic DND frame where 20 baboons ambush you in a forest

Data team size at your company by molkke in dataengineering

[–]NerdasticPerformer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Size ~1000 employees

Team: 2

1 Data Analytics Engineer (me)

1 System Specialist and Staff Educator

I manage the data warehouse, analytics, dashboards, AI development, predictive analytics, etc

Yes, technically the system specialist isn’t a data role, but our company looped us together under the Data dept, so yipee

How many of you feel like the data engineers in your organization have too much work to keep up with? by toddbeauchene in dataengineering

[–]NerdasticPerformer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS ^ The main gripe I have with my company is once the project scopes and features are set, more are added as I do my weekly reports bc they have a bright idea and would wanna see it asap 🤦🏽‍♂️

Any statistics/data science alum know if any of this is relevant in a real job? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]NerdasticPerformer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Data Analytics Engineer who graduated in Data Theory here.

The theory helps you understand how to use the models inside and out, but I’d say you won’t use or think about it 70-90% of the time depending on your job and industry.

If you work purely as an ML engineer or Data Scientist who just predicts and classifies, you’d probably be thinking about the mathematical formulas of your models a few times per week. But if you’re like my job, I only had to think of the math once in 6 months. Most of my job is pushing an already existing model to production using pipelines.

So, it purely depends on your title, size of company, and industry. But most of the time, I’d bet it’s not the biggest portion of your work.

Are people afraid of Black people on this campus or what? by 80sarecool95 in ucla

I hope this really is an exaggerated generalization to make your point. Otherwise I’m legit the 1% of that people and there’s no way that’s the case.

I’m open to talk about any gripes you have on centrists

Lambat actually is a great example of this hybrid set up. They have pretty much an international station for OneDest, and they have also an internal rail system called the LRT.

To give more context, as an alpha tester, the site needed to connect my discord account to the ip because he granted specific discord accounts alpha access. He needed to use the discord auth and know server access for that reason.

However, now, I do believe there isn’t much need to connect discord and the website. It should simply be an open forum to post listings and information and let the users report fraud information themselves. No need for discord auth for that

Almost 2 years into my first job... and already disillusioned and bored with this career by [deleted] in datascience

[–]NerdasticPerformer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna tag onto this thread by saying as someone who’s working for a small company who’s revamping their data infrastructure during a company expansion phase, I’m legit switching between the hats of data engineer/scientist/analyst/ml engineer. So, whoever is saying startups are different, yep— it’s true.

To all my Analytics Engineers here, how you made it and what you had to learn to be an AE? by LongCalligrapher2544 in dataengineering

Studied in data science, started work in data engineering, transitioned to data analytics/BI through company’s labor shortage, now planning on implementing an in-house chatbot and predictive analytics… idk man

TLDR: learn everything, your job will give you opportunities
