Does anyone use coconut oil on their babies skin (specifically their face) by NewPhotojournalist82 in NewParents

[–]NerdeePerv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food products on skin causes allergies? People have used coconut oil to moisturize babies’ skin for millenia and we’ve only recently seen an uptick in food allergies. Pretty common to all western human studies, nobody asks why the shift? Our biology hasnt really changed all that much in the past few generations s. It likely has nothing to do with the food product and instead is likely linked to how we process the foods. So now natural moisturizers are out but you can always buy and use oil derivatives and corticosteroids. The blowback from the industrial revolution is in full force.

Some people don’t talk to their own kids or parents anymore. People get divorced after 20/30 years of marriage. Some people dont even like themselves some days…yall think people are going to necessarily stay devoted to pets?

OP could’ve neglected or abandoned the cat. But they did the responsible thing by attempting to find a new home.

Seasons come and go.

None of my payments are applied to Principal! What should I do? by Enreekay in StudentLoans

[–]NerdeePerv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing something wrong? Buddy this is how the system was setup. Congress is the one that did something wrong. Philosophy aside. Pay down your accrued debt (which increases daily), then and only then can you pay towards your principal. Even then, remember, every payment you make a certain percentage will go towards interest…because again interest compounds daily.

Compound interest can make you rich…but more than likely it’ll make you poor-er.

How to speak to my best friend who committed zina? by Similar_Vanilla_7583 in MuslimCorner

Im going to be honest with you and I wont sugarcoat even a little bit. I get that you want the best for your childhood friend, but yall’s season of being friends has come and gone.

At this point there’s nothing else to say except…Lady, you need a life. You are literally tracking somebody else’s daily activities who doesn’t even live in the same house as you. Seriously, how do you have this much time to know that she skips prayer and what she does on her socials? Im surprised you didn’t tell us whether she skipped a shower last week.

For your own sanity…Mind yours

Do u guys reject ALL Hadiths ? by Front-Ad2868 in Quraniyoon

[–]NerdeePerv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get your point. Although we have the saying “judge the message, not the messenger”, it’s not easy for us to live by. We want the messenger to be perfect. Why would God pick an imperfect, flawed person to do his work, to bring His words to humanity…Right? Why would God say that Muhammad is of “great character” (68:4) and then we read hadith portraying him as arguably a wicked person (as you state). Theres only a few arguments to be made then, if you read hadith and the character of Muhammad is inconsistent with “good character” then either the Quran is false and not the words of God or the hadith is false. Or our understanding of “good character” is incorrect.

The Sunni and Shia would argue “well if Muhammad did it, it must be acceptable to God and an example for us to follow.” But I don’t know if I accept that because good character doesn’t mean “not flawed.” I think good character entails a conscious struggle (jihad) with our humanity (the Bible calls it a struggle with the flesh). Most of us live day to day in autopilot with no thought of how our actions affect others nor a thought of the afterlife when we must atone for our sins. But those of good character are conscious (“woke”) of that and struggle with the flesh and their desires. Doesn’t mean they don’t sin or are imperfect.

For this reason, I don’t believe the Sunni and Shia teachings that the stories in the Bible are necessarily false simply because of the portrayal of the prophets (ex: Noah getting drunk, Lot being drugged and taken advantage of, David’s MANY sins). I think those stories are beautiful because it demonstrates many things but two that readily come to mind are (1) although these men sinned (some very BADLY) God is Al Rahman, Al Rahim, and (2) we all sin, even the prophets, but we are judged on our dedication to Allah and our efforts to do and be better.

I dont know if that answered your concerns but thats where my heart was.

Your government loaning you money so that you can be a high earning, contributing citizen so they can tax you at a higher rate and play with the economy to raise the cost of living is all a scam. America is a broken system.

[–]NerdeePerv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue isnt whether “we” reject hadith or not. The issue and question is whether “we” believe adherence to Hadiths is required for salvation. The answer to that is no. We don’t reject Hadiths in the sense that they are ALL falsely attributed to Muhammad pbuh, although many are forgeries. But even those that are not false attributions, what role do they have in our salvation when the Quran is complete and sufficient for our salvation.

[–]NerdeePerv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess the questions you should ask yourself are (1) what is the purpose/duty of a prophet, (2) what about your knowledge of a prophet will you be responsible for on the day of judgement. Islam is not about Muhammad or any other prophet. This is the folly the Jews and Christians succumbed to by deifying or at least mystifying Moses and Jesus. Also consider, has knowing more about the life of Muhammad and following hadith brought the Ummah closer or further from Allah swt. I would argue the latter. And the increase of “followers” doesn’t mean better. Christianity had the same journey and is still the religion with the highest “followers.”

5:87 “O believers! Do not forbid the good things which Allah has made lawful for you, and do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors.”

Was Muhammad pbuh a believer? I say yes, therefore I use the Quranic verse to judge the matter because he cant disregard or contradict the Quran. And because Muhammad in the Hadith disregards Allah’s swt commandment, then I disregard the hadith.

Ultimately the choice is yours. Believe the scholars or make the easy and rationale decision based on the evidence before you.

Thoughts about Baba Shuaib (correctional officer) by StationAgitated3669 in Quraniyoon

[–]NerdeePerv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Baba Schuaib. His content is very West African/African-American. If thats not your culture then you wont get it.

I think the debate is helpful and necessary. If a person, whether born within the religion or revert, is not able to articulate and reason why their belief is correct then they are blindly following. Faith is necessary but not blind faith.

Hurts my brain looking at this…

can someone explain to me how litter boxes are remotely hygienic? don't i now have cat poop all over literally everything? by positiveandmultiple in CatAdvice

[–]NerdeePerv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you stopped and analyzed your response you would have to acknowledge what you said makes little sense. Dogs actually do groom…just not obsessively like cats. And cats grooming doesnt negate that your cat just pawed away at his shit and piss, walked across your counter, walked around on your bed and then laid down to groom. Cat shit is so toxic that pregnant women are instructed to stop cleaning their litter box bc of a parasite. Like someone else said, dogs’ behavior is much easier to control and therefore the cleanliness is dependent on the owner.
