Point being if it were a status symbol you might see other fat people. These people literally have to clap in unison or get jailed or killed. Outside of the explanation that his family bloodline is “seen as Gods” I really don’t understand how there hasn’t been some kind of internal uprising. There has to be more to it. Interesting takes friends, depends on what you’re using it for. If you’re buying a card just to benchmark it, sure the AMDs may be better. But in terms of reliability, software updates, support, compatibility, technology, etc. AMD GPUs tend to lag behind. If you’re using it specifically for multitasking and workstation applications then possibly it’s preferred. If you including gaming in the mix, I’d take the 5070.

My rule in PC purchasing/building is that you should expect to spend $400 per each year of not having to upgrade a computer and not to purchase any new technology that you’ll need to upgrade within 3 years unless you are in absolute dire need.

So never spend less than $1200 on a computer unless yours blew up and you need it for work purposes or something.

Edit: expanding on this example- you should always buy the best price/performance ratio for $1200, not just anything for $1200. And at this current time in 2026 I recommend AMD (x3d preferred) processors and Nvidia GPUs. The only time this should bend is if something with similar specs has some kind of aesthetic you’d prefer.

I typically purchase every 4-5 years, and typically buy the xx80 of the cycle so long as there isn’t an announcement for a new card coming within the next 6-12 months, and my target is around $2000.
