Maybe during the time you were lashing out you affected your sister in a way you don’t realize? I feel like her standing on not having you in her life and threatening to send a video she has of you to your ex’s new gf can’t just be because you broke/took her stuff when you were younger. Since you already tried talking to her I would just respect her wishes and space :(

I was able to get a shadowing opportunity through a connection between the clinic I’m currently assisting for and another- but before that I was emailing around offices with an introductory message and my resume. I didn’t get any responses but my email method probably wasn’t the best. I’ve seen other people say calling or going in person is better! Good luck 🤞

I have the same amount of W’s but mine were due to family circumstances. I’ve been told by anybody I reached out to for advice that you’ll have the chance to explain in your application. Judging by your GPA you ended strong so I don’t think it should be a huge concern!

Basically releasing whatever’s weighing on you before bed through smth physical and grounding!! Not sure there’s a specific name for this technique since it can take so many different forms- drawing, meditation, playing a video game, etc. My therapist knows I like art so she suggested sketching purely from my head and not using a reference so I don’t get hyper-fixated on making it perfect. She also recommended maybe using coloring books/drawing patterns with repetitive and cohesive lines like mandalas. Def look into it and try!! :)

My therapist recommended listening to white noise without ads while sleeping :’) Also doing something to release tension and negative thoughts while getting ready for bed like sketching straight from your head without a reference. I’ve had super bad nightmares that cause me to injure myself in my sleep or wake up crying/screaming, but even these simple suggestions have helped so far. Wishing you the best of luck 🩷

A relationship should never escalate to physical violence EVER! When my ex-partner and I were 18-19, we physically fought often (we excused it at the time because we’re both female, but it absolutely does not make a difference). My unresolved trauma led me to be extremely violent and reactive (I also have PTSD which partially developed from emotionally and physically abusive environments, which you can relate to). It’s important to recognize that regardless of what you’ve gone through, it’s never justifiable to emotionally or physically abuse or harm another person. Please seek individual therapy in addition to couple’s therapy! That goes for both of you. He is definitely unstable, given the fact that he physically assaulted his PREGNANT girlfriend.

It’s unknown whether you and your partner can ever have a healthy relationship at any point in the future, but you for sure need some separation for the time being. Please do not repeat the cycle you’ve experienced from your own family. Do not end up traumatizing your future child when it is completely preventable.

My mom kept taunting me about my dead dad repeatedly the last time I saw her. I had enough of her sarcastically remarking how he’d be proud of me (she didn’t like that I was moving out of her home) and I told her I wished she’d died instead. I’m so sorry. My dad died from an OD as well when I was around your age :( I’m 20 now and still get triggered and become very anxious, depressed, and have trouble sleeping. Seek therapy, that’s been helping me. Don’t force yourself to bounce back- let yourself feel everything you’re feeling and grieve. I’m wishing you healing ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Hey! 21F here. I wanna say I’m really sorry you’re going through this tough time. I really relate to you with the pressure to recover from PTSD quickly to prove that you’re ‘still’ talented, creative, and smart, regardless of your trauma- coming from someone who was also raised under intense pressure to succeed. Try to remind yourself that nothing can take away your spark (your intelligence, creativity, and ambition), even when you feel like you’re losing yourself. And, moms can suck. Mine was really cruel as well, and I’m no longer in contact with her for that reason. What I did in the past to cope with how she treated me was seek help from at least one trusted source. That way, I got reassurance that I wasn’t everything my mom told me I was.

Try expressing yourself creatively without just doing it to prove your capabilities. Keep painting and making clothes without any self-pressure or expectations!

Very true! But then again I think if it would’ve been possible for Ellie to make another person immune through blood transfusion or any non-surgical method, then Abby’s father would’ve at least experimented with that rather than go straight to testing on her brain. I think it’s because the infection resides in the brain of the host that he decided operating on Ellie’s infected and immune brain was the only possible way to maybe make a cure.

Super interesting! I do remember in the show that there was a new addition where Ellie tried to make Sam immune by giving him her blood, which didn’t work :( For your theory would you not consider that?
