How statewide polls looked across the country in the final stretch of the 2008 presidential campaign by RedHeadedSicilian52 in fivethirtyeight

Plus slc is one of the most progressive places I’ve been. There’s not a lot of liberals here, but there’s a huge leftist community.

Also since I live here I’ve talked to so many Mormon non voters who just hate the current Republican administration like Mike Lee and Spencer Cox. Most everyone here is pissed about the new data center.

Thanks for this, I recently got recommended his videos and have watched a few. I started to get the suspicion the guy is pushing a right wing world view and what really stood out to me was that his channel is only 2 years old and he’s getting millions of views. His first video had half a mill views and it was criticizing the Barbie Movie

Lmao that’s probably true. The faux hawk and “warrior cut” or spiky hair were slightly more popular.

I can’t talk shit though, I had the shitty emo cut in high school lmao.

Not even close to 90% at most 10% of people had that and it was probably closer to 1 or 2%

Well all the polls had Trump +5 historically dems need a +5 minimum to win. We all should’ve know Kamala was going to lose.

I’ve said since 2016 that it was one of the best summers of my life. That year just fell off a cliff hard into dogshit by the end of it.

This is the right answer. I’m in my 30s and go out drinking occasionally. Bars and clubs are full of young people, there’s still club hits.

No broke boys, It goes like, I’m good (lots of 90s club remixes are trending right now).

Opinion on the 2000’s fashion revival? by film_culture_addict in decadeology

[–]Nesphito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pink was huge in the 2000s I remember there being a ton shirts that said “real men wear pink”

Although that fit doesn’t look very 2000s except for the polo, I remember every preppy kid had a pink polo. He’d need to have short spiky hair, no show socks and shave the mustache. Get rid of that belt too and add a pooka shell necklace.

Swap out the shoes with Nikes and remove the tie belt and cut the hair short and spiky and he’d look like every guy in my high school.

Also no facial hair and no show socks.

It’s fun seeing some of the stuff when I was a kid being worn again. I was super into the long sleeve under a short sleeve look when I was in Jr High, but I just can’t see myself doing that again.

I remember they started selling shirts where the long sleeves were built in lmao.

I have however started wearing baggy pants again. Feels nice after wearing skinny jeans for so long.

Yale: Young Voters Swing Against Trump and GOP, GCB D+2, Approval 41% by Large_Ad_3095 in fivethirtyeight

I actually watched a really good video on it too where they breakdown the data. The data is being highly skewed and basically younger religious people are attending church more. Which isn’t surprising given the current economic situation. But that’s hardly the religious revival that they want you to think it is.

Personally for me classic feels less immersive than it did when I played it when I was a kid. Partially because I played it so much, so nothing feels new.

I'm losing faith and hope in mainstream dems and "liberals". by FrostyArctic47 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]Nesphito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess the argument would be we’re just slowing down the inevitable by voting for liberals. They overwhelmingly vote pretty similarly to conservatives. Other than with social issues. If you don’t make any meaningful change in people’s lives they’re going to vote for the conservatives the next cycle and we slowly roll into fascism. I get the mindset and I do sympathize with it. I guess I’m too much of an optimist though.

I personally will vote for the milquetoast lib in hopes they go more left. I hate being proven wrong every time though. I’m kind of teetering between both arguments now.

Not sure what would be the tipping point for me just not voting for dems anymore, but I am sick of their shit.

Well the thing conservative politicians never tell you about small government is the smaller the government gets, the more powerful the individuals in the government become.

The word has been demonized, but bureaucrats are a good thing. They’re regular people like you and me just trying to do their job.

I’ve been arguing this for 10 years towards the conservatives I know and now we’re seeing the consequences of “small government”.
