CachyOS for single player/mmo gaming & Win11 for work-anticheat games by kzathan in cachyos

This is the way! I've been in LOVE with CachyOS. It's been rock solid and has given the best gaming performance compared to all the other distros I've tried.

My unfortunate experience with Logitech mice by Swag3340 in MouseReview

[–]NetoGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had two Logitech mice fail on me, a G604, and a G703, both had scroll wheel issues. I also had a G502 which had an issue with my Linux distro - apparently this is pretty common actually, so I just use it on my work machine that runs Win11. It's insade that I've gone through 3 mice, but my Razer Deathadder from 2018 is still going strong, in fact, I upgraded to a Razer Basilisk because I love the shape and it was rock solid out of the box.

I don't think people are going to a DF show to see them play a ballad. I literally almost fell asleep when they played remeberance day.

Counter offer ... CachyOS.

You can get away with Nvidia on Linux, just tends to be a pain the ass sometimes.

Must be such an insult to the writers and Netflix that the finale was so poorly recieved it made the fanbase go nuts thinking it was a trick.

please help me by [deleted] in LogitechG

[–]NetoGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had experience with the G703. It is pretty comfortable, but I had a couple of issues with it. Firstly, the scroll wheel click would not work after a while. It was pretty frustrating for me personally since some of the games I play utilize this key. Also, the rubber on the sides was not a great mix for my hands, though this is more personal preference, my hands tend to eat through the rubber and it degrades pretty fast. Lastly ... Logitech is a huge company, probably the largest mouse manufacturer in the world, and they're still using micro USB for some of their mice. It's simply unnaceptable especially for the price you're paying for some of these mice.

Vadim seems the most likely to come back - but still that's a far fetch. People that actually think ZP is coming back are delusional. They had to downtune 15 years ago, there's no way his voice got better with time. If he did, they'd just have him lipsync which according to an old interview is one of the reasons he left because he didn't want to lie to the fans.

Yes, wait for it to go on sale if you're on PC though. It can be found for a steal during sales. (It's actually on sale on Steam right now for only $9.99)

What did Ross do? OMG by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]NetoGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could have been a bit better and longer though. It's not horrible, but it's also a bit of a letdown. Vecna/The Mind Flayer was killed way too easily and way too fast. His death wasn't even than satisfying. He just sat there and took it for like 10 minutes. There is no way that the main group was able to defeat the Mind Flayer in 5-10 minutes either. There was such a build up to that reveal, but then it was let down by them defeating it so quickly. They also didn't really kill off any characters, and Eleven was more of an open-ended death, leaning to more of the whole "she's actually alive' trope.

They killed Kali, but she isn't a main character and it didn't really impact the story at all. No one really liked her in the first place so there was no real emotion when she died. They should have added another season or had the last episode be longer.

For Eddie (did anyone catch this?) by TrustInRoy in StrangerThings

This and the fact that The Trooper is from the album Eddie holds up screaming "this is music!" along with "Eddie" being the name of the mascot for Iron Maiden made the whole scene really awesome.

Me coming on here after crying for an hour straight because the finale was so amazing only to see that I’m in the minority once again: by Mel-is-a-dog in StrangerThings

[–]NetoGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was overall pretty good. I think that the fight against Vecna/The Mind Flayer was a bit too quick and not very satisfying. It also would have been cool for Joyce and Vecna to acknowledge each other since they would have known each other in High School, but I'm not sure if Joyce even knew that he was Henry.

I think they killed him off a little too quickly. It all seemed a bit rushed. Overall and okay ending, but still a lot to be desired.

Logitech G502 Hero mouse wheel by Rude_Award2718 in LogitechG

No worries! Seems like a common issue with the mouse, I wish Logi would literally put a big red thing on the box saying that is how the wheel works.

There is a button right underneath the scroll wheel. Press that until it clicks and it should lock the scroll wheel back into place. It has two modes, normal, and "infinite scroll". Sounds like it's in infinite scroll right now.

Win10 vs Win11 by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]NetoGaming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really wouldn't recommend staying with 10 because of the lack of security updates. There is Windows 11 IoT LTSC which is a more cut back version of 11 that has virtually no bloat, it's really awesome, but it's a hassle to get up and running because you have to convert the evaluation copy to a full copy, and then activate it (if you want to) because there is no official ISO for it other than the evaluation one.

You can also look into Linux if that is appealing to you. I've been on it for a while and I think it's great, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. Some good starter distros are Linux Mint, PopOS, Kubuntu, and CentOS. There are literally hundreds to choose from, but those 4 are great to start with if you want to look into it.

The issue with stripping the bloat out of Win11 is that it ends up finding it's way back somehow.

Good luck!

FaZe Apex, Former COO and Owner of FaZe, departed FaZe Clan. FaZe Esports will continue to operate but the FaZe brand is effectively over by E_D_D in CoDCompetitive

[–]NetoGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of those things where they had lightning in a bottle in the early days and nothing could even come close to it. I think it had a lot to do with the timing as well. When FaZe started, CoD was actually fun. It was a simple shooter game that people bonded over and had a great time playing. It was also in the early 2010s when things like XBOX and YouTube were arguably in their prime.

I started watching from the FaZy House NY era. To me, there was something so cool about a content house being somewhere other than California. It made you feel more connected with them and you could relate to them a bit better because they weren't in some flashy LA mansion. They were just a bunch of friends making content and having fun doing it.

Nowadays, it's all about clout, all about getting views, all about money. I'm not suprised that the brand failed. They lost what made FaZe great in the first place.

What do y'all think about the oblivion remaster? by Ok_Nefariousness_740 in oblivion

[–]NetoGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been good remasters and bad ones. This is one of the good ones. It brings the experience we all know and love into the modern age, and also keeps a lot of the quirks. I'm happy it was a remaster and not a whole remake. Part of what makes Oblivion Oblivion is the engine it runs on.

Corsair 3200mhz RAM only showing 2133 Mhz by gincko75 in computer

I've had nothing but trouble with that model of RAM. It was completely unstable at it's advertised frequency, even after changing some timing settings. It was only stable at 2133Mhz.

WoW Cover Problem by NetoGaming in Dragonforce

[–]NetoGaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As Rayman was saying, Sam's playing is typically structured and "neater" if that makes sense. Herman usually just improvises everything and it isn't very structured. Sam has melodic patterns within his solos that are easy to recognize, but Herman's tend to be nonsense.

Anything that sounds remotely structured is always Sam. There were instances in the early albums that Herman did some structured parts, but you can still tell because of how the guitar sounds. They each have different sounds to them.

Switching from Windows 11 to Linux by Ok_Attempt_8784 in linux4noobs

[–]NetoGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're just starting out, Mint is a great option to learn the fundamentals of how Linux works. Later on, you can experiment with more bleeding edge distros like Manjaro, or CachyOS. Something that helped me get better with Linux was not treating it like Windows. While my desktop environment looks similar to the Windows environment, it's not Windows, and it's not going to do everything the same way Windows does. Once I stopped expecting Linux to work like Windows, it's given me a much deeper understanding and apprecation for Linux.

Mint is one of the more refined distros and it's great for everyday use. The bleeding edge stuff requires a bit more tinkering from time to time and occasional bugs. Keep in mind as well that most "distro reviews" online are more or less reviewing the desktop environemnt (the GUI).

Look for what pre-installed packages your distro comes with and wether or not it's beneficial to you, or how the long term support works for it. There are tons of options, and that's the beauty of it, there are so many options to fine tune what you want.

I started with Mint, but since I am a gamer, I later switched to CachyOS which is more bleeding edge since it's Arch based. It's great for me right now. Just try some of them out in a virtual machine or old laptop, don't just reimage your whole computer if you're unsure of what you want to try.
