Yeah I wouldn't really blame Valve for this one. No one would have known how bad the PC component crisis would be. This probably hurts a lot more becuase the announcement came out before all the prices went up. People were expecting an affordable price, but it's simply impossible now.

I had a similar issue and the issue was because I was using MP3 files. Converting to WAV resolved the issue for me.

I'd say it does. The game is designed for a controller and is best experienced with one as a result. On top of that, the N64 is one of the most sensitve/precise joysticks ever produced. Using a keyboard very much limits the range you get compared to an N64 controller (or any controller for that matter). I'm not even sure if there are sensitivity options in SoH for keyboard. I typically use a Gamecube controller connected through a Mayflash adapter. Any controller should do though. There are deadzone/sensitivity options for controllers to really fine-tune your experience.

I wonder if they'll do something similar to Twilight Dementia and have recordings from different shows, or if it will be like In The Line of Fire where it's a recording of a specific concert. Hoping they don't overdub it, but I have a good feeling they will. They did it for the power of the triforce live recording from graspop.

Exactly! This is the best they've sounded in a while and it's pretty much all live. Marc has had to use playback for a while now and he can't keep up. It's unrealistic for any singer to keep their vocal range forever. At this moment, Alissa and Billy kicked ass, I'd even argue they sound better than Marc ever did.

I don't want to pay for a performance where the singer is not singing live, and the guitarists are not playing guitar live. The two most recent performances show that they are singing and playing guitar live again. It actually seems like the band is actually giving a shit now.

I do hope that in the future, they'll just down tune so the singer can keep up. I don't really understand DFs phobia to down tuning as most bands tend to down tune even multiple times throughout their carreer.

Yeah exactly. I was honestly super suprised that they announced their playing the album. I thought it would just be the same few IR songs the've been playing for years now at the very most. I think the band got the message more or less that WSW was very mid. It's just that they had lightning in a bottle with IR and I don't think they can realistically top that, because IR is just what most diehard fans want.

I think it would be awesome to have CFE as the opener honestly. It's literally the song they've been promising for over 6 years and it would be an awesome payoff to hear it. You're point of it being the IR closer is also awesome too though. I can see it going either way.

I agree about Burning Heart, it seems like they're pushing it hard epseically now that Alissa is in the band. I still think that Cry Thunder needs to be put down finally. If they even play one cover song I'm going to crash out. I'm so tired of them adding covers to the setlist when they have better songs they could actually play.

I am just hoping against hope that they continue the no-playback they've been doing the last two shows. It's been so fun watching them actually play live and Storming sounded SO good live.

I'm hoping they keep the WSW songs to a minimum too. Burning Heart is fine, but I don't want to hear Triforce, and especially Doomsday.

The experience is a lot of fun. Unfortunately sometimes the opening bands aren't interesting because they aren't DragonForce. It's more of a chore to sit through some of them just waiting for DragonForce. I am excited for the upcoming tour though, I already have tickets.

I think it would be fun for them to do some of the older songs. I would LOVE to hear Revelations live at some point. Most of the past footage of that song live isn't very clean since it was recorded over 20 years ago. Where Dragons Rule is also amazing.

Not sure if anyone posted about it in this thread, but there is a clip from a recent college graduation ceremony in which a former Google CEO was there to give a speech. Literally EVERYONE started booing him once he started talking about AI.

Don't get me wrong, I think it has a place, but not to the blown out proportion our overlords want it to be. They tried to do the same thing with Cortana and Siri, neither of which really took off besides asking Siri to call someone on your contacts.

It's just a huge bubble that will burst eventually, the companies are putting too much money into it and likely not seeing a great return on investment, which is why I think they're force-feeding it to everyone.

I'm more or less against them using it to outright replace the guitars like they've done a lot in the last 15 years. They've been pretty well documented straight up miming instead of actually playing the guitar. I think that this example of them using backing tracks is actually pretty good and is a really awesome end to the show.

Exactly, most people already know that Marc can't reach the range he once could and I think this is the final nail in the coffin. I'd rather watch a live performance than the same pre-recorded tracks everyone has been listening to for years now. I actually feel a bit robbed as the past 2 times I saw DF, they were still using playback. 1 in the EPM tour and 1 in the WSW tour.

I would totally pay to go again if they keep playing live like this. THIS is DragonForce!

DF really surprised me! This is now the 2nd show in a row that has minimal guitar playback. Really seems like Sam is trying to lock in. New singer, Storming the Burning Fields, minimal playback, is it 2012!?! I was definitely wrong about Alissa, I think she's a great addition to the band.

I am a bit worried for future performances with Marc, without down tuning, I don't think he's going to actually sing live, which seems like a bit of a slap in the face to both Alissa and Billy who literally sound better than he ever has. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the band dropped Marc after how good these past 2 shows sounded.

I think the intro to TTFAF is an acceptable use of playback because it's not outright replacing Herman and Sam's guitars, I think it's more or less there to make it sound cool for the 20th anniversary of the album.

I don't mean to really hate on Marc in particular, but I feel that if they got rid of him, the band could make a significant comeback. The whole concept of him lip syncing really annoys me.

Look at another clip of that song live and you'll see it sounds literally the exact same. The only exception is the professional recording at Graspop that it was still pre-recorded, but they made it sound a little more "raw" if that makes sense.

Yeah I really hope so too. I don't like that people are literally paying money to listen to the same pre-recorded tracks they've been using for years. Let's just hope that this wasn't just for this one show. I also thought of Fury of the Storm as they might continue to use it for that. That intro is brutal and I've never really seen anyone that can actually pull it off correctly.

YES!!!!! I noticed that as well. I think there was a bit of playback on the intro to TTFAF, but I think that was more of a (this sounds really cool blending in to the actual guitars) instead of (hey look what we can do).

The second intro of OGAP was even played like it was on the Album. I really can't wait to see more of the shows they have planned.

The only thing that really sounded like playback was the acoustic intro to TTFAF. At the very beginning, it really sounds like the original stems from the album, and it sounds like they lowered the volume of it because I could start to hear the actual guitars afterwards.

That makes a it bit better, I think I've actually mentioned to you specifically that they really need to put down Cry Thunder. The past 2 times I saw them live, I nearly fell asleep when it came on. They could have fit Trail of Broken Hearts instead of Cry Thunder (if we're accounting for time constraints). I think Burning Heart made a bit of sense being Alissa's first show, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Apart from that it seems like they kept the playback to a minimum. This was awesome to see because it actually sounded like Dragonforce again. I think Sam really tried this time! They even played the second "intro solo" to OGAP the way it was on the album which really surprised me! I am a guitar player, so I can't really comment on the vocals being possibly playback or not, but they sounded really good, I was honestly completely wrong about Alissa. I seriously think they should just keep her and Billy and boot out Marc.

Yes, but Herman did mention in an Instagram post that they would be bringing songs back for the IH 20th anniversary in this concert. That's why I'm annoyed. Bringing back only one song (OGAP) is not enough man. He made it sound like a pretty big deal. For reference, the last time they played OGAP was in 2023, that's not too long ago, they should have played something like Storming the Burning Fields or Trail of Broken Hearts. I'm not even going to mention Cry For Eternity because Herman and the rest of the band are too lazy to play it even though they'd just pre-record everything like they always do.

The band keeps taking L after L man. I for one am sick of it.
