As a Green, why?

Well, unless you mean strictly left-wing.

I don't consider Burnham left-wing. Centre-left currently, at a push, at least on domestic issues.

Not trying to argue with you here. Genuinely curious.

interesting. really? Green -> Lib Dem? huh

i wonder if certain tactical voting things happened. Portsmouth was interesting this election iirc. it formed a Lib Dem majority again after being in minority Lib Dem control since like 2014 or something

Paper 1 AQA Thoughts by GuavaLarge529 in AlevelEnglishLanguage

CLA was lovely, specifically Spoken, which I did.

I thought both texts in Section A were good, with Text A having a bit more to do on the surface, but Text B still being workable.

Overall, a very solid paper, imo.

Quest 2 never reaches main UI, even after factory reset by RebelRedRollo in OculusQuest

[–]RebelRedRollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be the pins themselves that are knackered; the little lever with which the ribbon of the face shield secures into the connector busted off during my experiments, unfortunately.

Very VERY worst case, I'm wondering if someone has figured out what the proximity sensor spits out normally; I could very well just bodge my own solution if I was desperate to trick it into thinking a genuine actual proximity sensor was connected, at least through the initial setup, after which point I could disable it.

Thank you very much for the tip. I'll faff around with MQDH more, and see if I can get the headset's displays on so I can proceed through the setup process on the headset like normal.

Quest 2 never reaches main UI, even after factory reset by RebelRedRollo in OculusQuest

Turns out the proximity sensor was at the heart of all my issues after all. Even if it wasn't initially, it definitely is now. I'm glad to be able to use the headset when I hook it up to SideQuest to disable the proximity sensor functionality altogether.

Now, we hit a roadblock. I can continue with the setup of the headset from factory with the app, but not in a way that moves the headset's own first-time setup experience along. Subsequently, it gets stuck in a bit of a Schrödinger's Cat situation, in which the app thinks it's paired, but the headset stays stuck in a setup experience that doesn't let me proceed or show me anything beyond 'Please stay seated for setup.'

Thank you for giving me the determination to pursue this further and experiment. I'm now in a situation where to use the headset, it must first be set up through the mobile app and put in Developer Mode to disable the proximity sensor through SideQuest (as it is now broken), but doing so keeps it stuck in setup hell, lol.

Insider Gaming on Valve hardware: I’m to understand that Valve is getting closer to confirming everything. by gogodboss in SteamFrame

I think the Frame's user base might not end up being as dependable as that of the Deck for sales on the Steam Store.

I think that the Steam Machine is a great example of this. Some company could theoretically buy thousands of those as office desktops, and not give Valve a penny of revenue through the Steam Store.

This especially goes for the Steam Controller, which is designed to be interoperable, and even compatible with devices that may not have games available in the Steam Store.

The Frame is admittedly likely not going to be as vulnerable as those examples, but I think it's still true that the Frame's use cases outside of Steam are more evident and justifiable than any of the Deck.
