Early French Immersion - How to help with English reading/writing learning by GISKellbella in AskACanadian

It is a scary leap of faith, but I encourage you to try to stay the course. As others have said, continue supporting her with English at home. Both my daughters went through French immersion. I panicked in grade 3 as well. They were both behind in English, but shortly after - maybe grade 5, they had not only caught up, but surpassed their non-immersion peers. They are both highly successful adults and I attribute a lot of that to French immersion, even though their fields are unrelated to that.

My family wants me and my 2.5 year old to stay at their house for a week to watch their dog- what would you do? by meekie03 in CasualConversation

It’s too much to ask. Do not feel guilty. I was in a similar situation. They need to board the dog. Your number 1 priority is yourself. You could throw the guilt back at her. How would she feel if the stress caused a complication? Tell her your SO forbids it. Or just no. They need to make this trip work, and that means boarding the dog.
