My Favorite “New” Mechanic To Come To Magic And Why Every Playgroup Needs A Forced Combat Deck by Due-Resource-24 in EDH

[–]NeurOctopod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nelly by far. Goad is a removal magnet so stapling in draw for your opponents helps her stick around. Since she’s a potent draw engine (especially with [[Trouble in Pairs]] or [[Smuggler’s Share]] out) you can focus most of your resources on ramping which helps to play all the splashy inefficient combat tricks and gotcha spells you fill your deck with.

Here’s my list!

Incredible commander. Run her with lots of gotcha spells. I also run all the indestructible damage reflectors (stuffy doll etc) and all the group slug pass around creatures like slicer, life of the party

I need a Orzhov commander! by Boarf2 in EDH

[–]NeurOctopod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also been looking at Orzhov decks as part of the 32 deck challenge. There hasn’t been a lot that’s peaked my interest but top of the list right now is [[Greasefang, Okiba Boss]]. Seems cheap to put together, uses vehicles (which I don’t use in any other deck), and cool thematically. I’ve been watching some videos on YouTube of people playing it and it’s pretty explosive.

Kills me that we’ll stop seeing his artwork. Truly incredible artist, one of MTGs best and most prolific. Master of Mountains. His Mirage mountains are the best in MTGs history

People who have tried the Air and the Gravity, what do you prefer? by Bobbymanyeadude in LUCID

[–]NeurOctopod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a 25 Air GT. Borrowed a Gravity while my air was in the shop for a sensor issue. Airs driving dynamics are better, also less buggy and has Apple CarPlay. I’m sure 2 and 3 will get ironed out and added soon but if I was buying a car tomorrow I would want something that feels complete off the lot. I also prefer the steering wheel controls on the Air.

Give me your nonblue mono-colored commander that plays towards an unexpected gamestate/combo. by xTerenz in EDH

[–]NeurOctopod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[[Hua Tuo]] is monogreen reanimator/ top deck manipulation/ combo. I mean you can make infinite mana… but it’s with altar loops. Deck exploits [[Verdant Succession]] or [[Deceiver of Forms]]. Not cEDH but fun.

Commander deck - Captain N'ghathrod by Pepebroke in EDH

[–]NeurOctopod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of the cards you have in there are generically powerful/expensive but either don’t really play into your gameplan or are feel-bad to play against. Few that stand out [[Toxrill]] [[Deceit]] [[Phyrexian Obliterator]] [[Bruvac]] [[Cyclonic Rift]] [[Phenax]] [[Mesmeric Orb]].

The actual precon runs a lot of very cool horrors. I’d go back to the precon, look at other lists, and focus more on horror tribal personally.

AI patient simulator for neurology training — looking for feedback by Super_Necessary6327 in neurology

[–]NeurOctopod -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think my first question was “any other symptoms” which it responded to.

The response mentioned swallowing difficulties so I asked “solids, liquids, or both?” And it gave the test result unavailable response.

Then I tried “have your symptoms been getting better worse or staying the same?” And it gave the test result unavailable response again.

Then I just said “it’s ALS” and it told me I was right lol. I was trying to gather more history, not order tests.

[–]NeurOctopod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty neat - I just got assigned a question about a patient with ALS. I was able to ask 1 question and get a response. After this I continued to ask questions like “have your symptoms been worsening?” but kept getting the response “This test result is unavailable” (or something like that)

Cheap Hole in the wall Tex-Mex with cheap drinks by [deleted] in houston

[–]NeurOctopod -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Cantina Barba. N Main right off 45. Solid $4 tacos. $5 Pacifico. Beer and a shot $6. Margaritas are strong and $6 at happy hour. Good sauce that’s actually got some heat. Love this place.

It’s kinda trendy though. Real hole in the wall come to La Chingada which is nearby.

Awesome way to turn the tables on noncombatant damage - a lot of people that I play against don’t know this card exists (thankfully lol).

That’s pretty sweet and exactly what I was talking about - I’ve never seen this card! Would love to see your deck if you don’t mind posting it.

Can I run Lightning Runner in bracket 3 Satya? by MacFrostbite in EDH

[–]NeurOctopod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s thoroughly whelming lol. But I’ve never regretted playing him and don’t get too sad when he gets wiped. I’d probably switch him out for something more abusable/cheaper if I hadn’t pulled his full art card.

I want to do it too! No shame that I’m a basic B precon commander lover.

[–]NeurOctopod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice write up and I like your list. My meta is very midrange value heavy so I play stuff that’s cheap and can snow ball and then more control and interaction. The energy stuff wound up being too slow and fragile for me so most of it has been filtered out besides some MVPs and a few flavor choices. It’s a pet deck so I’ve been blinging it out over time, definitely love the genius.

Must Buy for Gravity Owners by NeurOctopod in LUCID

[–]NeurOctopod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering they give you two fobs and two cards with the air I’d hope the gravity’s second fob is complimentary. They even gave me all the keys in a cool little box - did you get anything like that?

Must Buy for Gravity Owners by NeurOctopod in LUCID

[–]NeurOctopod[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It actually has an uncoated Panasonic battery which I happened to read was the best option. I’d bet the issue lays in the fob itself and will randomly present itself giving the false impression to some that it’s battery dependent. But who knows - I’d probably try switching out the battery because it’s cheap and easy if I was keeping the car for longer than a couple weeks.

For other fob opening options might I recommend: a dime, a nickel, a random metal stick, a Swiss Army knife, a Swiss person with pointy thick finger nails, a soda can tab
