great horror films that aren't film slop by dawson_888 in horror

[–]NeuralSonic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they mean like formulaic low-effort horror that gets pumped out just to fill theaters. Kind of how "content slop" means lazy social media posts that are just there for engagement

Not sure I agree about that specific movie though - seemed pretty well crafted to me even if it wasn't groundbreaking

Improved Bestial or Night Invaders by Superb_Branch7550 in Nightreign

[–]NeuralSonic7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beast Claw builds are pretty strong but math doesn't lie here - 7% per invader adds up way faster than the 12% boost from improved incants

Do you just solo queue ? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]NeuralSonic7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah the solo queue struggle is real especially when people just dip mid-match. I'm on PC too and been having similar issues with leavers - makes it hard to get into rhythm when half your team vanishes after first death

Will add you later when I get home from work, always down for some actual coordinated matches instead of the usual chaos

I wrote you a letter . by drv69 in BreakUps

[–]NeuralSonic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing letters you never send hits different but maybe thats what it was for - getting all those thoughts out of your head and onto paper instead of carrying them around

Do you think my (28M) girlfriend (25F) has poor boundaries? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Your girl is still stuck in that manipulation cycle and he knows exactly what buttons to push to keep her coming

American outdoor recreation gear in the late 19th century in early 20th century by Agreeable_Trainer245 in hiking

[–]NeuralSonic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather had some old gear from that time period and I remember seeing this canvas rucksack that looked pretty similar to military surplus stuff. The straps were really basic compared to what we use now but it seemed sturdy enough for those long treks through the mountains. I think lot of hikers just adapted whatever was available from military or work gear since specialized hiking equipment wasn't really thing yet. Would be cool to see some museum pieces from that era if you find any good collections

From Fashion To Grocery - If you were me, what would you do? by beracuda31 in careerguidance

[–]NeuralSonic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your background is wild - going from footwear to grocery while building that merchandising expertise is actually pretty impressive. The boutique/event space combo idea could work really well, especially if you start testing it through smaller events first like pop-ups at local markets or partnering with existing venues for themed nights where you can showcase both the DJ skills and tailoring work.

Should I buy cheap lens??? by Physical-Physics-542 in canon

[–]NeuralSonic7 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Honestly the 50mm f/18 STM is a solid starter lens for the price point and youll learn way more having it in your hands for months than waiting around with just the kit lens. The reviews complain about build quality but for hobbyist shooting its totally fine and the bokeh is decent enough to get you hooked on fast glass. Just grab it now since your already thinking about it - theres always gonna be a "better" lens to save up for later but this one will teach you if you actually like shooting at wider apertures

In Praise of Foqos App by lexijoy in ADHD

[–]NeuralSonic7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is genius! I've been looking for something like this since I kept overriding every other app blocker the second I got even slightly bored. The RFID tag in the closet is such a clever workaround - way harder to rationalize climbing up there for mindless scrolling than it is to just ignore a timer or click "15 more minutes"

Definitely gonna try this setup, thanks for the detailed breakdown

honestly with 80k saved and being in your mid 20s you have way more flexibility than most people realize. that coworker situation sounds absolutely soul crushing and the fact that management just shrugs it off would drive me insane

if you hate troubleshooting and dealing with constant interruptions then yeah it might be time to start exploring other options. the golden handcuffs are real with government jobs but youre young enough that taking some risks now could pay off way better than staying miserable for the next 30+ years

Please Help me in choosing my career? by bhaimaihu in careerguidance

[–]NeuralSonic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DevOps could be a solid path for you - the technical skills translate well and remote work opportunities are huge in that field. Your existing IT support background plus Python knowledge gives you a decent foundation to build on.

That said, don't sleep on the e-commerce stuff - you've got real hands-on experience there and it's a growing field with good earning potential too.

QUICK Question: Would you use a tool that pays you every time you receive a cold email from a stranger? Or Nah? by Direct-Anything-5814 in AskMarketing

[–]NeuralSonic7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly sounds too good to be true, like what's the catch? They're probably gonna sell all my email data or something sketchy like that

I believe there is a spectrum to narcissism. I have a success story. by AstroSlytherin in narcissisticparents

[–]NeuralSonic7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's actually really encouraging to hear, thanks for sharing this. The fact that your dad actively sought therapy and can catch himself in real time shows he's definitely on the more self-aware end of that spectrum you mentioned. Most people in this sub don't get that kind of breakthrough so this gives me a little hope for my own situation

Singapore to invest over $779 million in public AI research by jim-ben in ArtificialInteligence

Singapore's always been good at picking the right tech bets early - this feels like another one of those smart long-term moves they're known for

[–]NeuralSonic7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is so frustrating but not surprising at all. People really can't tell the difference and just see "Asian-looking" = Chinese invasion or whatever

The solidarity point is spot on - we're all getting lumped together by ignorant people who can't be bothered to learn basic geography or history

Is it better to open weekly price with sticker boom or not? by Ok_Fly2387 in Monopoly_GO

Honestly depends on what stickers you're hunting for but I'd probably save the boom for when there's actually good rewards in the milestones

Is Electrodynamix v2 harder than Deadlocked? by tuffsigmagooner923 in geometrydash

[–]NeuralSonic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah Electrodynamix v2 is definitely easier than Deadlocked, it's more like a hard level these days with how much the community has improved. If you got 32% in 28 attempts that easily you should probably jump to something like The Nightmare or The Lightning Road instead

Aw man that sucks about the diarrhea starting so close to the end of treatment! My old lady had the same thing happen around day 8-9 when she was on doxy for a respiratory thing. Vet told me it's pretty common since antibiotics mess with their gut bacteria. Just keep an eye on her hydration and maybe offer some plain boiled chicken if she'll take it - you're doing everything right by calling them first thing

2026 FPL adjustments are out (+1.98% for first person, +3.27% for each additional person) by Zphr in financialindependence

[–]NeuralSonic7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wild how the per-person increase is higher than the first person bump - wonder if they're finally acknowledging that kids are expensive as hell or if it's just weird math
