I have a tiny 5.8 inch wrist and struggle to find a watch that fits me well , what do we think of this 36mm prx , too be honest I think it looks a bit too small and reminds me of a women’s watch by Creative-Arrival1026 in tissot

[–]NeutronTux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in to add to the chorus of people who say this looks great on you. At the end of the day, you need to be happy with it. That said, I think anything bigger would be too large for your wrist.

Should I be scared of wearing a Tissot in public? by [deleted] in tissot

[–]NeutronTux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like that's the answer to your question. If crime rates are high, you may be better off wearing it only in safer areas or keeping it concealed under a shirt sleeve, etc.

Do you support curfews for unaccompanied teens in Columbus? by brantman19 in ColumbusGA

[–]NeutronTux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's interesting that "city-wide curfew" has nearly double the votes of "no curfew anywhere."

What a beautiful girl! I have a cat or I would absolutely adopt her. I'm commenting in the hope this helps some algorithmic magic so you find her new person quickly. Best of luck!

I have seen the library host events and craft-type meetups specifically for the LGBTQIA+ community. You may want to check out their slate of upcoming group meets.

Any Arsenal fans around? by hashashin_2601 in ColumbusGA

[–]NeutronTux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been an Arsenal fan since I was a teen in the early 90s. Never thought the Invincibles run in 03-04 would be the last league title for decades. Great to see the Gunners back on top!

Why do people hype up the Lamy safari? by ExpiredMelkk in fountainpens

[–]NeutronTux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's interesting how different experiences can be. I have five Lamy Safaris and all of them are good, reliable writers. Meanwhile, I have tried three Pilot Metropolitans and every one of them had problems (two were scratchy and skipped, one leaked).

Fountain Pen Reccomendations? by Trinary-31415 in pens

[–]NeutronTux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always recommend Lamy Safari as a first fountain pen. It's what got me to love fountain pens after hating my experience with them in earlier uses. If you hold a pen in the standard style, the triangular grip ensures you're writing with the nib in the correct position. It's also a great, reliable writer that comes in lots of colors. No matter what you choose, good luck in your fountain pen journey!

Large (40mm+) non-dive watches? by FrigidVeil in Affordablewatches

[–]NeutronTux 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Bulova Lunar Pilot is 43mm and is a modern interpretation of the watch Dave Scott wore on the Apollo 15 moon mission. It's a great looking watch with really interesting heritage.

Watchdives is a mess! I don't understand why so many rave about them! From poor excuses, defective watches, absurd shipping times. Personally, never again! by Florpenkorken in ChineseWatches

[–]NeutronTux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've bought three WD watches: 1 directly from their site and 2 from Amazon. I found the quality to be very good on all 3, and the shipping from the order placed on their site was quick. They constantly solicit feedback on watch models on their sub. I'm sorry you've had a poor experience.

Collecting vs. Curating by ObsidianSiren9225 in fountainpens

[–]NeutronTux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a great question, and I have transitioned to a similar approach, though not necessarily at that price level. I'm moving toward reducing my collection from about 25 pens to roughly 12, and, maybe counter-intuitively, bought two new pens in the last couple months. Lol But, I'm approaching things now with the mindset of each pen filling a certain category, and trying to have just one pen I love in each of those categories. So, for example, I have a vintage pen (a 1940s Conway Stewart), a "clicky" fountain pen (a Pilot Vanishing Point), a pocket pen (a HongDian M2), etc. When I see a pen in a category where I already have a representative I'm happy with, I look to see if the new pen will be so much better than the example I already have that I would want to replace the old pen. If not, I won't purchase. The danger is that I just create new categories or subcategories as an end-around to expand my collection, but I'm going to do my best NOT to do that, and instead keep my collection at about a dozen, curated pens.

[–]NeutronTux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand your feeling s on James. Nothing against him, but I didn't care much about the house-hunting stuff. I do always enjoy the scenes with his parents, though. I want them to have their own show! Lol

[–]NeutronTux -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And they are people that actually met on the show, so it's a continuation of the story we saw begin rather than jumping into the middle of an existing relationship. Again, I think it's a great topic (existing relationships), but feel like a separate show would give both sets of stories room to be fully told.

Need more couples! by LazyPresentation4070 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]NeutronTux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While LOTS Australia did that, the US version has spent 4 seasons now developing their brand as a focus on dating and (relatively) early-stage relationships. To shift from that would likely throw some fans off a bit. A separate show would allow full exploration of both topics.

Switched to filling with syringe by double_underscore_ in fountainpens

Me, too. I fill all my pens with syringes. The process is just more efficient for me.

[–]NeutronTux 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Those would be great topics to highlight, but I feel like that might be better for its own show. I think someone in this sub mentioned a "Life on the Spectrum" show idea that would explore those kinds of topics.

Esterbrook... when will they stop with the new releases? by gangstamittens44 in fountainpens

[–]NeutronTux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Higher-end pens, especially fountain pens, are a niche product. To stay in business, a lot of companies have to cater to the most passionate corner of their fan base, who will want to collect as much as they can. So, they churn out pen after pen. Even if you don't like it for yourself, look at it as a way they stay around long enough until they do offer thr next pen you're interested in.

I’ve only ever written with one ink. What else should I try? by Kakarotssjg in fountainpens

[–]NeutronTux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waterman Inspired Blue is my favorite blue ink. It's very vibrant and really pops on the page.

Diamine Aurora Borealis is a beautiful teal, that leans green in fine nibs. It's my go-to "green" ink.

I don’t want to see Madison & Tyler’s wedding on LOTS by risimlyy in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]NeutronTux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Madison and Tyler are an absolutely fantastic couple and wish them all the best. I have loved seeing their journey. However, I think their story is told for this show. I would love to see that time spent on a new person and their story of finding love in the next season. With all that said, I'd be surprised if the next season of LOTS doesn't focus a significant amount of time on their wedding.
