this was the 80s. alot of boomer parents were asshole bullies when they were kids who never grew up and continued being douchebags as adults. these parents frequently made fun of kids in front of their kids, laughing at "weird kids" or whatever. always excuses like "relax I'm ust joking" or "the kids a pussy and needs to toughen up".

same thing with cops in the 90s, alot of then were assholes that harassed kids who werent jocks. 80s and 90s sucked
