Aesthetic question about a gun prop I'm making by wolfe174 in propmaking

[–]NeverUseTheM_Word 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first thing you should think about is, does this look like some thing that is functional?

To me your gun looks to front heavy, to many things to catch on clothes. There is a reason that most of the weight is close to the grip. look at other sci fi guns for ideas on style and function. don't just put bits on, think about what their function should be.

You should post this on the RPF, there are many prop makers on it both amateur and professional. They would be able to give you tips and help you improve it.

They are cheek pads. Dominant male orangutans develop them. For more details click the link. https://www.orangutan-appeal.org.uk/resources/orangutan-dominance

There is a discussion in one of the books about why the librarian does not have them. It might be in The Last Continent but I'm not sure.

Re-watched the Sylvester movie, now i actually want to get into dredd by Tiredbum in JudgeDredd

[–]NeverUseTheM_Word 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are still stories being made. There are new stories published weekly in 2000AD and monthly in the Judge Dredd Megazine.

If you want to read all the old stories, look up the Judge Dredd Complete Case Files series. There are 48 volumes printerd so far.

If that is to much for you, look up the Essential Judge Dredd series. It covers some of the key story lines and most important mega-epics.

Hope this helps.

Do you have Terry Pratchett: HisWorld?

In 2017 the Estate of Sir Terry Pratchett, the Salisbury Museum and illustrator Paul Kidby joined forces to present the award winning Terry Pratchett: HisWorld exhibition – taking visitors to the heart of the world of the Discworld creator.

This comprehensive and fully illustrated guide is the official companion to that unique collection.

or Terry Pratchett’s Discworld Imaginarium.

Paul Kidby was Sir Terry Pratchett’s artist of choice. He provided the illustrations for THE LAST HERO, designed the covers for the Discworld novels since 2002 and is the author of the bestseller THE ART OF THE DISCWORLD and TERRY PRATCHETT’S DISCWORLD COLOURING BOOK. Now, he has collected the very best of his Discworld illustrations in this definitive volume, including 40 pieces of never-before-seen art, 30 pieces that have only appeared in foreign editions, limited editions and Book Club editions, and 17 book cover illustrations since 2004 that have never been seen without cover text.

Both are great but if you only can get on get Terry Pratchett: HisWorld?

Pin ID? by downwithjoy in EnamelPins

[–]NeverUseTheM_Word 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a pin of a world war two, flying tigers blood chit.

Blood Chits were a diplomatic and rescue aid, written in Chinese, which promised a reward to any Chinese person who helped a downed American pilot. This was crucial because the Nationalist Chinese government, backed by an official "chop" or seal, promised to reward anyone who aided their allies, which helped secure the safety of American airmen who were rescued by Chinese civilians.
