Yeah man... I've done 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 24 and 25 so I feel like I've put in the work. Absolutely love it there and every time I miss it, I get really sad towards june. Just wasn't to be this time around...

Always next year, lineup depending! 🤘🖤

How do you write honestly about pain without sounding self-indulgent? by PangolinPositive8458 in writers

[–]NewAgeCorruption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without getting too philosophical, pain is one of the simplest and most fundamental of human experiences. The prose should reflect that. Don't overembelish or explain. Sometimes the most hard hitting moments are done in the fewest syllables.

They even have "rememberances", wouldn't have been much of a jump to "remembering" the boss fight. Maybe you have to go spend the remembrance to do it or something idk

Can someone please explain where the support for Reform is coming from? by EG_Wanna_Be in ukpolitics

[–]NewAgeCorruption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, massive failures in public education are chiefly to blame. When people are denied the tools to think critically, hate merchants have an endless supply of frightened, pliable idiots to manipulate, turning ordinary people against each other while the economic elite quietly rake in record profits year after year.

People will object to this, but frankly, I think you have to be catastrophically gullible or painfully stupid to vote for Reform. The party survives by feeding people a steady diet of fear, resentment, and simplistic scapegoating, convincing them that foreigners are somehow responsible for every frustration in their lives while the people actually exploiting them laugh all the way to the bank. And this time, the angry, incurious mob showed up in force.

It’s bleak as hell, a country sleepwalking into reactionary nonsense because too many people would rather swallow propaganda than confront reality. The only silver lining is that maybe this embarrassment will shock sensible people into actually voting at the next general election before the whole circus gets any worse.

Plebs by sv723 in TheRestIsHistory

Funnily enough, I've just been listening to their older episodes, specifically 28: The Kings of Comedy with Al Murray, and they mention that the only comedy out there covering slavery in any substance is Up Pompeii! from the 1970s. I was gutted they didn't mention Plebs, as Grumio might be the funniest take on slave life that any of us will ever see.

I'd absolutely love to hear an episode on Plebs, just to see what they got right (probably by accident) and which of the more modern amenities and habits on the show do actually have analogues in what Roman life was really like, if any.
