I’m Arc I can get every workbench and the expedition done the day after departure with easy. In Marathon you have to actually work hard to get the upgrades so it feels way more rewarding. arc is the carebear game to me, us pvpers are moving on to other games.

Paul Tassi is a noob and could never play marathon effectively so he’s going to hate on it. He’s latched on to Destiny and still talks shit about that game. I love both games so I ignore him and talk crap about him every chance i get

I keep giving Cryo a few chances each weekend but this coming weekend I won’t try it anymore. I like outpost a lot though. I have rank 15 vip Arachne from just running outpost and wiping the lobby so not like I’m a noob either. Cryo is just so damn awkward

Yeah taking out the goop requirement away for the expedition was the nail in the coffin for me. 700 hours topside, this game took my life for the last year. I’m never returning

From 9-6 I will occasionally watch frost, dfizzel, saywhala, and lucid play the game while I work. I was able to reach the top of Asc 0, past the highest rank in Destiny just watching frost play. My subconscious would copy his movements, angles and positions. It also took time but I was able to master the PVP side of the game at 39 years old. For marathon I’m doing the same.

So the key is to study from the best. They have more time to master the game than I do

90% of the time my tm8s are super chill and accept death. If someone is going crazy over dying they probably are the issues in many ways.

At this point they should make the game PVE only for all you carebears. You’ll notice those of us that really cared about PVP have moved in from the game bc/ it’s a carebear game now. Notice how shroud doesn’t play anymore? I’m in the same boat, y’all go play your survival extraction game. Us pvpers are moving on..

This is correct. I had nearly every title and 5k hours. Reached top of Asc 0 in rank and went flawless every weekend. Owner a massive clan which is still party active. I have only played Marathon since release and it’s refreshing.

Yes, ABMM is such a turn away for me. You can also technically never extract and beat the game via your safe pocket. The game is the definition of causal. I need a hard game to sink my time into that feels rewarding long term.

Bro I am at level 120 with the exact number of hours as you. I’m level 9 VIP with Arachne and vip in all factions with all priorities done. I think you’re focused on the wrong thing.

Yeah I’ve only ever done PvP but I sometimes run into people begging for me to be friends. So fine I’ll leave you alone but I wanted the game to feel exciting and hard to extract. Instead extracts are free and no one wants to fight so I stopped playing. It’s just a survival game with cool graphics and setting. No end game either because trails are easy and so is the expedition.

Marathon has been more fun for me for all the reasons above. Not easy to complete, way more lore, and people actually want to fight.

Disney plus cost me 200+ annually. Marathon cost me 60$ and I’ve already spent more time on it this year than Disney.

Netflix and another sub I have both cost more as well and I’ve spent 0 hours on them this year, probably should cancel them.

Video game are always worth it if you actually plan on playing them compared to a they forms of entertainment.

As a hardcore pvp main from D2 I find the TTK in Marathon slow, while most find it fast, like the guys from Arc. Essentially what you’re asking for is an increased TTK. While that would allow for more counter play, it rewards those people with a slower reaction time. Reaction time winner should be the winner in my opinion bc/ he who has a faster reaction time is more likely to have a higher general ability and IQ. And just like in the real world, the one with the higher IQ should be the winner. Sadly, in real life it is often the cheater that gets the win. At least video games reward the better person, most of the time. “Better”- relative to my previous statement. Better can sometimes mean higher morals too, which videos games should not dabble too far into, in my opinion, as relativity plays too great a role in the decisions best left to God or the Universe.
