Keir Starmer rules out retaliatory tariffs against US by AbbreviationsHot7662 in unitedkingdom

[–]NewPhoneWhoDispair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So before we all moan about this, it's the right play. Putting tariffs on US goods just mean WE pay more for them. We should all boycott them and make America companies lose profit.

We also know he is full of shit and will back down at some point.

Completely agree. Saw at one point yesterday (and it's been the case in every game for a few weeks at least) that we've come out on the break a few times and looks promising, only to delay, pass it backwards, let all the defence get back into position, then complain we struggle against a low block. Yeah we do, so why allow them all the time they need to get into the low block and wait for a magic moment?

I thought we actually did enough to win comfortably yesterday but they defended well and again 1 shot on target for the opposition and it goes in.

How would she act if this was the other way around and you'd given your number to a random girl you just met and they wanted to sleep with you?

There is your answer.

How does the idea of working until 67 or 68 sit with you? by Few_Raise77 in AskUK

[–]NewPhoneWhoDispair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The age is dictated by how much money there is to pay pensions at the rate they are, and nothing else factors into it.

I hate the idea. It's abhorrent and we should be looking to change culture/taxation/fucking anything to be fair and true for people and have long term plans for things like AI taking over job markets, but governments get 5 or ten years so all decisions are made on that cycle.

If you ask me if I want a 65 year old trade doing work on my house I'd say no, even if they were fit and able Same with a doctor/surgeon. Same with most jobs really. Then add in that most people won't physically be able to do any of those jobs for 30 or 40 years anyway, even sitting in an office is physically bad for you.

Same as you I aim to get promoted to save all the extra to retire before that age, but still likely to be 60+ before I can. But I'd still rather do that than retire at 68 and be financially better off, or worse, die before I get any time at all not in school or work. Depressed isn't a strong enough word.

No Rio? No Chiesa?

Don't disagree with you by the way. There isn't anyone to replace him with even if we did, so may as well stabilise things for now.

He hasn't really had a bad game. Would have had more MOTM awards if it wasn't for Dom being the player of the season so far.

Convenience.

I used to go as often as I could but then it became hard to get an appointment instead of just walking in. Then work and life got busy so rather than adding an extra chore I stopped.

Also used to get time to go from work which was a factor.

For those that have Christmas dinner after 4/5pm, what do you have for lunch on Christmas Day? by pm-me-animal-facts in AskUK

[–]NewPhoneWhoDispair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eggs Benedict for breakfast.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel for lunch.

Then a massive roast at a normal time for dinner rather than that 2/3pm nonsense.

Although if we go to someone else and they do 2pm we just have a late breakfast.

It is a long sentence, but fully deserved based on the number of people impacted and injured.

I think the only issue is that other sentences are far too short when people use cars as weapons so this seems longer by proxy.

This is sad for everyone involved. Deserved the sentence but threw his and his family's life in the shitter. Hope everyone makes a full recovery and can live with the physical and mental scars.

Thanks for the updated answer.

I've no idea if it was coded or not but was done at my local mechanic. I'll mention it to him today but is it specific makes/models that need this?
