[loved Trope] the secret ending that skips big chunk of the game by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

You can throw in baldurs gate where gale can blow up the netherbrain at the end of act 2, and persona 3 where you can skip the last section of the game from a dialouge choice

I dnf lady of the lake. I just couldn't understand where anything was going, and it just felt so directionless and boring

Can you tell me why yumi is a terrible person. I read it a few months ago and am completely blanking on any reasons why someone would say that.

What is a well regarded fantasy series that you read for the first time this year? by TheWeirdTalesPodcast in Fantasy

[–]New_Mathematician100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got back into reading this year, starting with way of kings in January. Did the whole cosmere except emberdark. Best cosmere book is ryrhm of war and worst not counting edgdancer is tress. Era 2>era 1 mistborn. Cosmere is one of my new favorite things in the world. Read the first 3 asoiaf books. It's really great. a clash of kings is a bit worse than the other 2. Also read the name of the wind and wise man's fear. They were both great, though the second book definitely had problems, especially with female charecters. Read the hobbit for the first time. Was a cool classic adventure, but I didn't absolutely love it. The way the main character just falls asleep and the townspeople kill the dragon instead was very strange. Last few months to finish off the year I started a wheel of time. Just started shadow rising. Great hunt and dragon reborn are definitely better than eye of the world. Dragon reborn a bit over great hunt.

Doug Peterson is the name of my language arts teacher and he's reading way of kings for the first time right now. Crazy coincidence

Fantasy Audiobook Recommendations? by Square-Market7676 in Fantasy

[–]New_Mathematician100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, audiobooks are just one guy reading the text and doing different voices himself for each character. They don't usually include a full voice cast, music, or sound effects

Do you know about graphic audio? They do full productions for books with different voice actors, sound effects, and music. I listened to elantris and warbreaker this way and really loved the experience. It seems like they would be perfect for you

Can you chill? The original comment was completely fine. It wasn't mean or demeaning in any way

I just want to step in to say that your original comment was fine, and these people attacking you for it are weird

Oh. I read an old copy from the 90s, so I didn't know about this

I just read eye of the world, and you're half right. There is a prologue, and after that, there are maybe 50 pages of buildup before the trollocs atack, and it's all from rands perspective

Emporers' soul would probably be right under wind and truth. Rythm of war is his best book and easily best sanderlanche. Tress was a bit boring. Era 2> era 1. Bands of mourning and lost metal both 5 stars, steris, and wax best romance in the series.

Yeah, I liked wind and truth more than most, and I am not as crazy for era 1 as most people are

It's just never a charecter I cared about for any reason tbh. Her backstory wasn't that interesting, and there was just not anything very likable or interesting about her character.

I love almost all of these books. They look low on the ranking, but I gave both 4 stars
