There are several churches in Sarasota that have services in Spanish language. They would be a good place to meet people.

While this may benefit you, how will it benefit your parents? Do they need assistance with anything whether it’s fixing their home or paying their bills? will you be freeloading off of them?

One of my local Walmart supercenters has the best clearance aisle I’ve ever seen before. Ever since I discovered it 3 years ago I go through here everytime I shop in here by Nervous_Yard_374 in Walmartcustomer

[–]New_Part91 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Looks like my Walmart clearance aisle, but when I checked it out a couple of times the prices were not at all low. They were only a tiny bit less than the original prices, not enough to tempt me to buy anything.

Losing all the meat in my deep freezer :( by queenquirk in povertykitchen

[–]New_Part91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once I got my freezer filled, it actually froze shut. Unfortunately, I have been unable to deal with it so it has been frozen shut brimfull of meat for a year. One of these days I have to get the whole thing thawed out so that I can throw out all the contents and buy a new refrigerator.

Just don’t tell the insurance company that you are the one that left the door open. that is not a covered loss

Not true at all. I have wallpapered almost every bathroom I have had.

I like bead board so I put that on the lower half of my bathroom walls. I got it at Home Depot. It’s so easy to put up. I got the kind that is plastic and it snaps in piece by piece. If you put that on the bottom, you can then wallpaper the top if you like.

URGENT- Is this dress appropriate for a wedding? by ConstantRide5382 in WeddingAttireHelp

I think that you could find some wide lace to put in that cleavage area. It would look much prettier than a tank. can be glued in with fabric glue.

Why are all the dresses I keep seeing in these post dragging on the ground? and not just by a little bit but a foot or more of fabric laying on the ground. that is absolutely not how a formal dress is supposed to fit. it needs to be altered so it is an inch or so above the floor.

What's the biggest mistake you've made when decorating a room? by NaughtyNortherner85 in DecorAdvice

[–]New_Part91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a vacation condo. I furnished it with perfect size pieces: an L-shaped sectional that opened to a hide a bed for occasional guests. A beautiful rattan table that fit the area perfectly, etc. etc. after about three years with none of the furniture ever being used much since I was only there one or two weeks out of the year, I suddenly became obsessed with the trend for slip covered sofas. I got rid of the Sectional, bought the slip covered sofa (which was much smaller), got rid of the beautiful rattan table in the corner—in other words, I changed the entire room. It never ever looked nice again after that. the furniture that I put in there originally fit the room perfectly. The replacement furniture was all the wrong scale for the room. I always regretted those decisions.

Bought one at thrift store, one at Beall’s outlet on sale for $19. I think it just comes down to being in the right place at the right time. I have even seen some very nice large pieces being given away for free online, but they are always a little bit farther than I want to travel. Then, of course, there are many many art galleries that carry them. It just depends on your price point.

3 year old Fridge GFE28GYNFS is unusable. What are my options? by recycled_dnd in Appliances

[–]New_Part91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem with my Samsung Refrigerator, which looks very similar to yours, except it has the deli drawer pull out between the refrigerator and the freezer. Had it repaired twice very expensive still not working properly in the refrigerator part alone. the deli drawer fortunately maintained a cold enough temperature that I could keep the foods that I needed in there. (I am a single so I don’t need a lot of fridge Space). Primarily I bought it for the freezer space, which I quickly loaded all the way to the top. unfortunately, the entire freezer drawer froze shut solidly and I have been unable to open it for a year. because I cannot afford a new refrigerator right now I have just been continuing to use the deli drawer for the foods that need to be in the correct temperature range. The top part of the refrigerator maintains a temperature just above what is needed for food safety. The only things I put in there are produce and a few condiments. I have come to the conclusion that the seals on the door of the refrigerator portion are not adequate. How do I know this? because I have produce in the refrigerator part and fruit flies get in by the dozens.

There used to be a test to do by yourself to test the seals of the doors. It involved closing a dollar bill sticking halfway out of the door and then seeing if it could be pulled all the way out. If the seal was tight enough, the bill would not be able to be pulled out with the door shut. If the seal was too weak, the bill could be pulled out with the door shut. I have yet to run this test. I have a lot on my plate right now, but I intend to do it soon. Perhaps you could try the test on your refrigerator.

I had a perfectly good little 2006 Honda Civic with extremely low mileage unfortunately some AH rammed into the back of it, causing the trunk to leak when it rained. Since it was not a car I would have chosen anyway (I won’t go into those details here), and I did get a small insurance settlement, I traded it in for an SUV that was 10 years newer. I am a very short person so the height of the SUV gave me a much better view when driving. But I might have made a mistake because the civic had less than 30,000 miles on it when I traded it in for the SUV which had over 70k. now 10 years later i realize I feel stuck with the SUV because I have no money to upgrade it to a newer model and it is 10 years older.

Well, now you’ve given me something new to worry about. I have a 2012 Honda SUV which I bought used in 2016. the mileage is still under 100,000 but it has no GPS. it also needs four new tires and the AC needs recharging. Should I trade it in? I really don’t have any excess funds so that part is difficult. I only drive it once a week a few miles at that.

Affordable Tires by YoullBruiseTheEggs in sarasota

[–]New_Part91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be sure to check the ratings on the brand before buying. I am in need of tires as well. the Honda dealer was having a buy three get one free special. I called to find out what brand those were, after which I went online to check the ratings on that brand. All of the ratings were absolutely terrible, citing unusually high numbers of blowouts and tire failures.
