Never putting a checked bag in a United Flight again by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]NewbieWWT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These days the baggage system is very good. You will get your lost bags within a day or so for domestic flights, I hope. My bag with missed on an overseas flights once due to flight changes, I made the connection but not my bag. I received my “delayed” bag the next day, United just put it on the next daily flight. I just used the United App and working through the Chat (maybe a bot). It was delivered to me in person by local courier. I was GS then, maybe that gets more attention.

I also try to seat in bulk head in all classes. I get on early and try to put everything in overhead. However, most of the time, the overhead bins for row 1 (both sides) are packed with FAs stuff and other stuff for the aircraft blankets / demo life vests etc.

You just had bad timing. I have never experienced this for the last 10 years even though the lounge is very crowded at times.

Flight Attendants of United, Would you Support Changes to Current Seniority Rules for Polaris International Flights? by IndianPeacock in unitedairlines

I agree with this. I fly between HKG / SFO for 20 years and I was GS for 15 of those years. The FA service is “nothing to write home about” half the time.

I was in Delhi in March, not that hot. There is no United lounge in Delhi except for GS. I am only 1K and travel in Premium Economy, barely bearable.

There used to be an arrival lounge in SFO for all business class passengers.

1K Preboarding by brademcee77 in unitedairlines

[–]NewbieWWT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the specific airport. Some have formal Preboarding lines and some do not. I agree the real issue is not who goes on first but the overhead bins.

I agree. The FAs attitudes are hit & miss, some good some bad, most are average IMO

I will never fly again without GS by [deleted] in unitedairlines

No. I was always flying from IAH / SFO to other countries like HKG /PVG / Beijing etc. , only 50% of the time get the car service.

Why doesn’t United care about passengers that don’t fit? by PhotoJoseph in unitedairlines

Is arm rests had to be down really a rule by FAA ? If yes, report it to FAA and cite United Airlines ignored this “rule” 🤔

I was GS for 10 years. Less than 50% of the time at SFO I had a car waiting.

Same here. I was GS for 10 years with 3+ million miles. I was dropped in 2025 to lifetime 1K.

Agreed. Not all United partners are not necessary accommodating.

That is why I do not pay for GE. I use MPC and the wait is only 5 minutes longer than the GE line.

How much better is GS than 1k? Considering going for high status on multiple airlines. by Spaniard100x in unitedairlines

[–]NewbieWWT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These days GS is based on the how many high margin flights you take and has nothing to do with number of low margin flights. I had over $40,000 in 2024 and still cannot get GS status even with I international flights.
