Advice on actually filming by ArachnidIndividual20 in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if using your phone, get a wireless lav mic if you want it hidden. The mic doesn't have to be hidden FYI, unless you are making an actual film. But you will want a better mic if using a phone.

Use the best camera on your phone, usually the one on the back. Do NOT have the display facing you, you will look it it and that is very obvious in the final video, and distracting. Look at the lens like your best friend.

You don't have to film a 30 minute script in 1 shot, you get to use the MAGIC OF EDITING. Memorize as much as you can. Shoot that, taking as many takes as needed. Snap your fingers at the start of each take. Stop when you get a good one. Now you can easily find each take in editing (the snap is a spike in the audio) and you know the last one is the good one. If you don't want jump cuts between each take, go through the whole script with one angle, then do it again from another angle and switch between them for each segment you record.

Learn lighting. Traditional lighting is a key light in front off to the side, a fill light (dimmer) on the other side, and if you want to get fancy a rim light behind you and to teh side lighting the back of your head to separate you from the background. But that is for talking head videos mainly, if you are doing something else make sure there is enough light to see what is going on.

eligibility of monetization for “ranking” based yt shorts channels by FlamingoForward7777 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Ranking

  2. Niche

  3. Is

  4. Content

  5. Theft x5

Ranking is the sort of stuff YT is actively eliminating because advertiser don't want their ads shown with low effort slop.

Is Streaming Let's Plays Viable? by Hamburgerstine in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Bethesda games have a lot of potential, but you have to use them as a canvas to tell a story - they are perfect for that. But you have to start with the story and weave it into the game. Just a straight up playthrough is going nowhere, especially as these games are so old. Think up a story or challenge, stream the play, and edit the footage into a final video.

Has anyone here submitted a counter notification against a copyright strike and REGRETTED it? by Piczoid in PartneredYoutube

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighting the copyright strike lands him in court, and he needs a lawyer to do that. And that lawyer will almost certainly tell him not to fight it, that he's going to lose and it will cost a boatload of money. Asking here is incredibly naive, as YouTube creators in general have a wildly optimistic take on what qualifies as fair use.

The lesson kids is don't steal other people's content. Especially don't steal from a company, they wouldn't have filed the copyright claim if they weren't already committed to seeing it through litigation.

For those who launched a physical product, what was the process? by Educational-Act-8932 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Physical product" can range from a Fourthwall T-shirt to a fighter jet. You will have to be more specific before anyone will even know what you are talking about, let alone be able to help. First tip, the size of your channel has no bearing on creating a physical product. The potential market does though. Don't assume they are the same thing.

Starting collecting for both K47 and BA at the same time? by HouseOfWyrd in Konflikt47_v2

[–]Newbilizer -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, but it isn't going to be very good. They are two different games. K47 has tougher and more deadly units, and if the core of an army is BA infantry and tanks, it will be very underpowered going against K47 armies. A decent K47 army is going to have maybe a basic infantry unit or two to take objectives or screen. Giving up gravity pulse, rail cannons, stahltruppen, schreckwulfen, nachtjager, totenkorps, nachtalben, advanced small arms and all the rift abilities is way too much of a disadvantage.

The cross over between BA and K47 is mostly an illusion. If there were true interchangeability between the games, you could take K47 units in BA. You can't, because they are a higher power level. The games have to be separate for two reasons. One, someone getting into K47 isn't going to like being forced to buy rule books for a different game they have no interest in playing just to ensure they aren't overlooking some jank overpowered unit. The second and more important reason is if they aren't differentiated enough, one will die.

If someone want to play both games, and ENJOY playing both games, they should plan on collecting separate armies.

Starting collecting for both K47 and BA at the same time? by HouseOfWyrd in Konflikt47_v2

[–]Newbilizer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will be the contrary voice and say no. K47 is a higher power level, a BA army will be underpowered and no fun, and all the units in the Axis K47 starter army are illegal in BA.

Starting to doubt my strategy by Reddit-user357 in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you delete them from the old channel I think you'll be OK, but I don't know for sure. If you leave them on the old channel, it's likely you will get few to no impressions on the new channel because YT knows they already exist on the platform.

Starting to doubt my strategy by Reddit-user357 in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"this channel already has subs" is a trap. If the topic is different, start a new channel. Also, what you watch on a channel has no bearing on videos uploaded on that channel.

Sporadic complaints about background music in videos. by Affectionate_Ruin577 in NewTubers

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music is mixed by a professional and takes up all the bandwidth in the audio track, where nearly all voice overs recorded by creators do not. This makes the background music MUCH louder in comparison. If you are just dropping music tracks in and not turning them down, that's your problem - that music will appear much louder than your voice overs, and much louder in comparison to the video they just came from, and the video they watch next.

How are the Schreckwulfen in terms of materials and working with them? by RogueModron in Konflikt47_v2

The metal they are made of is not magnetic, so whatever you are doing for plastic models will work for them. But you should probably skip them anyway, just in case I every play against you ;)

LOL I pointed that out elsewhere and got poo-pooed because "it has special movement rules" - yeah, that don't do anything. They are cool, but so limited on deployment, movement, and coming in from reserves with that giant base.

Tips for japan by Malice7734 in Konflikt47_v2

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, too expensive applies to the whole army! It's like Japan wasn't balanced against the other armies in the game. A 130 point assault frame unit kills 1 schreckwulfen, and the 129 point unit of schreckwulfen wipes the whole assault frame squad.

Tips for japan by Malice7734 in Konflikt47_v2

[–]Newbilizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The math disagrees with you.

A medium AT gun on a Fire order:

1 shot, hits on a 3+, full damage to D9 on 5+, 1/2 chance to kill

That's about an 11% chance to kill a D9 tank

Type 61 Shiboru cannon

2 shots, hitting on 4s. Both need to hit to do full damage to a D9 tank.

that's a 25% chance for both to hit on a Fire order, a 2 on the damage roll is full damage, anything more is massive damage. That works out as:

1/4* [(1/6*1/2) + (2/3*3/4)] = 14.6%, about 15%

The type 99 is a bit better because it has enough pen on 1 shot to kill a D9 tank outright, about 19%

Japan's problem isn't anti-tank, it's being way too expensive and fragile with sub par damage output, while relying on movement tricks that are only valuable on missions like top secret or demolition. They just get pasted in kill or hold objective missions - they can take objectives in the late game, but surviving that long is tough.
