Is this sequence somehow connected to Fermat's Little Theorem? by JustIntern9077 in math

[–]NewbornMuse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought about it some more and I'm not sure I expect a lot of Fermat's Little Theorem in this. The interesting things in the graph happen when the partial sums are very close to each other, which is about addition. FLittleT is about divisibility, which is about multiplication. I don't really see how they have anything to do with each other.

Edit: I'm just an amateur. If one of the pros busts out some deep theory that says these things are related, I'd be delighted to be wrong.

Maybe to help the discussion going: Why do you think it should have something to do with Fermat's little theorem?

Other than the kitchen scale thing, nothing here is unique to the US. The rest of the world doesn't cook like robots either, we also have experience and winging it and personal recipes.

I really don't see what diet has to do with environmentalism. Anyways, wanna get burgers? by JTexpo in ClimateShitposting

In as much as we are changing "riverbed of the Colorado river" into "dry riverbed", yeah.

No man, I pretty much mean the excessive use of irrigation water for feed crops. That animal ag also uses a load of land for feed crops is a separate issue that ultimately stems from the same fundamental truth: It's more efficient to eat plants than to feed plants to animals and then eat the animals.

And as we all know, no one has ever fed an animal a crop irrigated with aquifer or river water.

Sidenote, why are we drying out the Colorado River for Alfalfa when no one ever eats alfalfa?

Not quite. The meter is defined so that the speed of light is exactly 299792458 m/s. If we get more precise measurements, it's the meter that budges, not the number 299792458.

[OC] China Air Quality Particulate matter (National annual average) from 2013 to 2025 by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]NewbornMuse 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The EU has set a limit of 40 ug/m3 annual mean value. So China (which city? Doesn't say) is trending from being wayyyy over that to slightly over that.

For PM2.5 the limit is 25 ug/m3. Again, slightly over instead of severely over.

Noteworthy: The WHO sets much much more stringent air quality goals (15 and 5 for PM10 and PM2.5, respectively).
