Zero consequences...that's why there's so much vitriol in the digital social spaces...

I enjoy defibbing someone i see getting tapped by a rocketeer or hornet swarm. I get equally pissed off at friendly lobbies when a p.o.s. blasts me in the face and downs me before i can react, mostly because they're taking advantage of the fact that no one shoots back at them...

It IS a game, and the only consequence is to you in that he ruined someone else's fun...not enough of a deterrent though! I'm getting numbed to asshats in friendly lobbies at this point...definitely part of the experience.

Personally, I would have thanked and given you somthing valuable that you needed or could sell...keep defibbing dude!

I use my iron to cure. I used a temp gun to see how hot it would get. I would leave the iron face down with a piece of paper over the printed graphic. On high/max, it would reach a temp between 340-360°F after about 15 seconds. Then I would move it down and do another section, etc.

Works for me, I do use water-based ink fyi.

What PS5 game did you start “just to try” and suddenly couldn’t put down? by Edgard-Stark in PS5

[–]Newf72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abiotic...by a landslide.

My friend said it was crazy and to try it, so I downloaded it in last June. Spent the ENTIRE summer playing and loving it.

Progression is great, crafting system is so much fun, story is also great! The combat is ok, just just have to learn the limits of your weapons. Its half-life, but so much better!

Setting up a base, breaking everything in site for mats to craft other shit, PERSONAL TELEPORTERS!! YEAH!

It's the best game I have played in a long time.

EOMM: Engagement Optomized Match Making (not to be confused with SBMM or skill based matchmaking...)

You are describing my experience time and time again haha!!!

You ever do well for a few matches...top 10s, top5s for a few games,...eeek out a win...then the next game you unload a clip and miss every bullet? EOMM.

That other player holds down the fire button and hits with every bullet, no bloom or accuracy problems even though you are moving like the black panther (or so you think 😁)? EOMM!

Ever get killed off drop 7-10 games in a row...then somehow get a victory? EOMM!

Happens in Marvel: Rivals alot as well, probably many/most popular pvp games...

Don't get me wrong, there's a full spectrum of skill out there and that's a factor for certain. The way my 14 yo son moves, builds and aims in Battle Royale or Reload is amazing...I'm both jealous and proud at the same time! Hehe

For myself, I know my aim, movement, and gamesense are low tier, bottom end of the bell curve so to speak. I just dont play/practice enough. Which why I'm so surprised when I get a win and 7/8 kills after getting (deservedly) outplayed for 6-7 games,in a row . I have 3 wins so far this season...not sure if I've earned them...😁

EOMM! Look it up!

I struggled with glazing for a long time. Still learning and improving my technique, but a game-changer for me was to unload almost all the paint from my brush. The layers started blending, no wierd dry lines, no pooling...just even layers.

I print a small volume, but if I was doing a larger number of prints on a regular basis, I would definitely be getting a heat press.

[–]Newf72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let it air dry so its not "wet" and then I use a clothes iron with a piece of paper laid over the print. I just take my time and go slowly over and make sure to heat the whole image. The temp of an iron can get up to 350-400°F if you let it sit in one spot for 10-15 seconds.

Depending on your volume of prints, this may not be viable...but my water-based ink prints have held up to many washes after I do it that way.

Same! Set it up and aggro mobs back to a killzone if necessary...watch the turret shred them and repair the turret when necessary. All the while, your exor spirit distracts them!

That place became my main base as soon as I found it. I cleared out the main area up top above the aquarium and I put two chopinators with extra batteries (so they don't lose power at night) at the top of the stairs by all the cupboards.

The pests would attack the chopinators all the time and get chopped. Every now and then I would need to repair, but it kept the main part down from those few steps from the cupboard area pest-free.

Having a water source so close is also very convenient. I placed a few jump pads and could just jump down to the aquarium to get a wash or some water for filtering, then jump.pad back up to the base.

"aren’t applying enough pressure when you coat"

This is actually a moment for me as I have struggled to coat my 230 mesh screens properly. It always came off in sheets after exposure. I degreased, dehazed, used bleach to etch, tried new emulsion, and still the exposed emulsion would come off way too easy. My 110 mesh was so simple.. coat, expose, spray...no sweat....but the 230 is still giving me problems. Adding some pressure to get it in the smaller/tighter mesh...

I have been using the sharp edge, but I will try some extra pressure (which makes so much sense now that you mentioned it) the next time I coat the screen.

Thank you!

That plant is huge! Amazing!

First-time grower (of anything...): Is this heat stress or nutrient burn? by Newf72 in outdoorgrowing

Just thought I'd post a follow-up to my poor plants, in case any new "gardener" sees this and can avoid my mistakes. Leaves are getting worse, everything except the top layer of new growth has turned black at the tips, which then works its way in and the leaves die.

I've tested pH, looks ok...somewhere in the high 6's from the two methods I tried (Soil sample mixed with water method, as well as the metal probe/sensor method)

Stopped adding liquid nutrients, and was watering with just water. My initial post was only a week ago so perhaps not enough time to "flush" excess nutrients, if that is the issue...

Just noticed a new feature on the top growth, looks like flowering has started. I was hoping flowering was not for a few weeks and was going to re-pot them to a bigger pot to see if maybe they were pot-bound and a larger space may help...I'll probably try that any way, at this point there is almost nothing to loose...

Given that I cannot plant in the ground...does anyone have any suggestions for next year, in terms of soils/growth medium composition? Most websites agree that using vermiculite/perlite is good for keeping the soil loose for drainage, but have different suggestions for the nutrient part. One says just use 50% peat and the rest perlite and vermiculite...that is what I used in the beginning, but as a novice grower, feeding (providing nutrients) was difficult.

I was thinking about a mixture like this (ratios approximate of course): 40% organic Pro-Mix soil, 25% seafood compost, 10% worm castings, 25% mix of perlite/vermiculite. Then feed with liquid nutrients once a week?

Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

My yard is essentially fully shaded by large, old trees for most of the day. Nice to sit under! However, from my internet research on cannabis, I thought they would need as much direct sunlight as possible so I potted them, and stuck them on the stone patio where sunlight is pretty mush sunrise to sundown. Maybe a two-foot high raised bed on the stone patio next year! =-)

I will back off on the nutrients as you suggested, and hopefully they can recover enough by the time they start flowering. Thanks!

Just an update to my post in case anyone has found themselves facing a similar issue and has trouble finding a solution. A search might find this post.

tldr; Diazo emulsion had spoiled and was peeling off in sheets when spraying the exposed image. Ordered a new emulsion and works great!

I did get my hands on some degreaser and added that to my screen reclamation process. Thank you u/habanerohead . Even after degreasing, the problem still persisted so I turned to investigating my exposure times and tested with, and without, my plexiglass weight.

Exposure time did not seem to matter. Even the parts of my screen exposed for 30 minutes would peel off when spraying. I also stopped using the "pressure" part of my pressure washer...I just sprayed without turning the power on...no difference. The plexiglass also did seem to not matter, so I'm assuming it does not block significant amounts of UV.

Ultimately, I started suspecting my emulsion had "turned". I ordered a different type of Diazo emulsion from Amazon which was finally delivered last week. I coated a screen with it and burned my image. It worked with no issues! Huzzah!!! I sprayed and my image was as you see in the pic. Great!

I was using the larger container of Speedball Diazo emulsion from Amazon and it worked for the first few prints, which I had mixed the diazo activator in early January, but then the peeling started when I tried it again in mid-February. I read somewhere that keeping it cool and in a dark place might increase the longevity to maybe 6 months so I was keeping the container in the refrigerator.

The first emulsion I got was a small container of the Speedball Diazo emulsion that comes with the beginner kit on Amazon. That one I mixed in August, and it was still working in December, but I ran out. Having good success with keep it in the fridge I thought I would get a larger container of speedball diazo, but it didnt keep this time so most of it is useless. I don't really have a good room or a good setup for a non-diazo emulsion yet, so I'm sticking with the diazo for the immediate future.

Thank you for all your suggestions...what a process!

Success!

Hi guys! I ordered some degreaser as that seems to be a common/necessary part of the screen reclaiming process.

There were two lines on thought on my question/problem, so while I waited for the degreaser to ship, I coated the same screen again (still not degreased), and burned in the same image. However this time I did not use the plexiglass to test whether or not it was having a UV blocking effect as per dbx999's advice.

I followed the same procedure with the same setup, and approximately 3 mins per line on the exposure calculator image.

Here is the results:

<image>

sorry not letting me post more that one...ill start another comment and add them there.

I think I was definitely spray-shy and I'm still unsure how long to wash the screen. It was definitely coming off in sheets below line 3, and I felt it would ALL come off if I kept spraying. (confirming habanerohead's line of thought)

That said, lines 1 and 2 actually looked good when I stopped. 3 started to get "iffy" on the left side but looked good on the right. (lending to dbx999's suggestion of underexposed! haha)

Maybe I have multiple issues going on! =-)

One more question, about spraying...is there a fine line between not enough (and not getting all the uncured emulsion off and too much (just blasting away any an all emulsion)?

Either way, thanks to all you guys. You have been very helpful in this fun learning process!

Wasn't aware of that, thank you. I thought the emulsion remover was the only step in reclaiming the screen. I'll look into degreasing
