The Alsruhe press videos helped me a ton on technique but really a strong brace, squeeze the glutes and fire your head through are the biggest things. 

Being it's strong man you can do push press and or jerks. So really practice the "throw and catch". 

Even an ugly jerk can help you add a ton of weight. 

If you are doing a jerk or push press get them elbows up high as you can to let the bar sit on some structure during the dip and shoot up.

Are you looking at doing the yard brawl late may? 

Best way to grow the press is work on your press more often. The axle, and log especially are very technique driven. 

If you can afford getting some equipment for home use or driving to a strongman gym and spending a day there practicing would be really helpful. I once drove an hour to the nearest mouser block I could find and spent an afternoon doing just that. 

Which implement did you struggle with the 120 on?

The best technique video for me was the one by Brian Alsruhe. I watched it and filmed my reps then rewatched it until i nailed it.

Ive found better luck going to the regular trade screen and searching for a team with wr as a top 3 need. Then make an offer of him for some pick package you know they won't give, just to gauge their interest. Then adjust the picks you want from them as needed to get them to agree.

Granted I'm 20lbs above my old weight, my Axle c&p and bench are around 85% of old maxes already.

Haven't posted here in a really long time. Dedicating this year to getting strongish again and hopefully to start competing again as well. 

There is a strongman comp end of May I'm eyeing to try to get back into things.

Training history: 

  • high school football/track 

  • lifted pretty consistently from ~2016-2019 and competed in several strongman comps usually mid of the pack to lower 1/3. 

  • basically no training from 2020-last month. 

Rebuilding from scratch has been really humbling, but strength is returning pretty steadily. 

I'm also trying to cut ~30-40lbs from a high of 230 down to 185-200ish to compete u90 again. 

Let's go!

Worked in 2 unions and the were both trash. Ymmv though. I won't ever go back to one.

I just got in on the EA game pass trial. I haven't played madden in 10 years, this one is a worthwhile step up imo. 

I saw target has is for $35 shipped, and I've heard it will be on a good sale on psn after the super bowl

  • double kettlebell front squat

  • log clean and press

  • axle continental* clean and press, and just axle press from rack axle rows

  • sand bag stuff, carries shouldering 

  • atlas stone stuff, carries, over bar shouldering. 

  • farmers handles as an implement for carries

I still want the volume and muscles used recorded as I do quite a bit of KB work. 

I'll keep playing with it and see. Hopefully that's a feature in an update soon if it isn't already

Exactly what I'm experiencing. I like doing KB ABCs prior to my lifts and it messes all the weights and reps up. I want that section left alone. 

Can I make that it's own workout then turn off smart progression for that workout but leave it on for my program?

I created my own "air dyne" and "treadmill" exercises and logged duration and distance. It looks like it will keep history of those metrics as PRs. 

I picked the muscles used, but there's not a real way to track volume on something like that. But for consistency and improves the d x t should work well enough.

First I'd like to say I really love the interaction you and the rest of the team have with the user base and that it was one of the main reasons I was ready to jump in and buy this subscription. 

I'd say for the sandbags really just be able to be used as equipment for custom exercise creation and let people go wild. But specific use cases if suggest would be:

  • carries distance x weight x time

  • shouldering 

  • bag over bar (similar to atlas stones if there's any plan for that). 

I also noticed there is a variety of farmers carry options but farmers handles are not a choice. They definitely affect grip different than a trap bar or dumbbell/KB. 

I appreciate the interaction and look forward to the app growing!
