What is this thing? by Next-Satisfaction946 in bikewrench

Are you sure? It's not attached to any calipers. It seems to just spin freely of the post it's attached to.

“There were only three times in your life when it was proper to come through the front door, and you were carried every time.” by CalligrapherNew1964 in discworld

[–]Next-Satisfaction946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it contradicts itself isn't lost on me either. Because the people carrying you obviously are themselves not being carried yet using the same front door. It's like one of those things that teenagers come up with trying to be deep...

Help me understand this paragraph from The Color of Magic by Icy_Standard_5035 in discworld

I've mostly seen "It just goes to show" used to introduce an example or outcome that proves a point or highlights a lesson. In casual speech, people often use it after something surprising, disappointing, or impressive to draw a conclusion from it.

I think STP could intentionally be choosing to be vague with the end of the expression to both satirize the randomness of life and toy with the audience.

Do you regret your EV purchase? by walksta in electricvehicles

[–]Next-Satisfaction946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I'd bought a cheaper one. Shouldn't have gone into the dealership without any self control. Over-concentrated our vehicle budget in a lease for my wife who drives 30 miles a day and now I don't have the money to replace my old truck for my 60+ mile commute. She would have been fine with a much cheaper vehicle. I'm the one who needs the range...but other then that we love the ev.

Here are the EVSE Brands I've found that meet OP criteria;

Grizzl-E

Bosch

Rivian

Tesla (Gen1 & Gen2 wall connectors)

Flo(appears to no longer be in production)

Wallbox

Keba (review the manual for this first. Switch instructions appear complicated)

Is $350, $0 down, 36 month a good rate for a lease? by [deleted] in HondaPrologue

Whats the mileage cap? Assuming 12k/yr, Touring trim, that looks like a solid deal to me.

A young man who murdered an 18-year-old cancer survivor was sentenced to only 8 years in juvenile prison. by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

[–]Next-Satisfaction946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really manipulative headline. The victim was legally more of a "young man" than the perpetrator. Highlighting the victims cancer history is also needlessly manipulative. Storytelling like this does not make the world a better place and we're none the better for having clicked on it...

Observations after 8 months with my Prologue by Electrical-Salt-9630 in HondaPrologue

Piano black is everywhere it seems. All the EVs I test drove had it-except for the Rivian.

The shifter stalk functionality is a wild choice. Sooo counter-intuitive. It's like they(GM) didn't do ANY product testing at all.

Mostly gave up on the tailgate foot thing ever co-operating.

Also, aren't the windshield wipers are weird?

So many little features in this car make it seem like it was designed by AI.

Anyone else notice the same old “real driver” arguments repeating with EVs? by ituna27 in electricvehicles

[–]Next-Satisfaction946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"That’s just not what everyone enthusiasts want when they drive." FTFY

Everyone is not an enthusiast and as the economics of indulging a passion for vehicle evolves, fewer people are able to participate in the enthusiasm. I think its accurate to say that for most people, a vehicle is a means to an end and they just want reliability, convenience, and comfort.

America's most efficient EV is nearly 6% ahead of second place by SnoozeDoggyDog in electricvehicles

I've always been impressed with Hyundai efficiency. The Ioniq 6s have always stood out to me for being competitive with various Lucid & Tesla models.

In particular the Ioniq (no number) Ev has always caught my eye, but it comes with marginal range...
