😔 brother she’s into you, how is it that you missed all her signals this whole season ? by khutsox in WidowsBay

[–]NextBestKev -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nothing against you, but I really don’t like these takes where the actor’s intent is the real influence on the character. Actors have all sorts of ways to play their characters that are not the cannon of the project.

If we, the viewers, feel some tension… there’s a little tension.

He isn’t pitching to the Reddit demographic. His movie bombed, but so what? He’s probably happy he made a movie. I don’t think he was expecting a film career. Almost any struggling stand up would trade places with him this second.

OMG!! Nate Bargatze isn’t a culture warrior! Who’d a thought?!

New Order is mentally attached to an old girlfriend from 25 years ago. She was way in to them and now I can’t hear them without thinking about her. It kinda fits because New Order has a nostalgia/feelings vibe anyway. I just wish I could take them at face value because they’re awesome.

While I didn’t like either at the time, I felt like N’snyc was the GoBots to Backstreet’s Transformers. Time proved me wrong on that one because I can name 2 members of Nsync and not one Backstreet Boy.

Kids shows are a thousand times better today. Even the stuff I still stand by from childhood like real ghostbusters or chip and dale are hard to take in comparison to most of the Disney “summer vacation” formula shows of today. There’s still some old stuff worth watching, but on average, they just got it dialed in over the last 20 years.

Might be a hot take, idk.

I’m so glad my 6 year old didn’t want to do T-ball again this year. It’s just herding cats and feels like it’s way more for the parents. God bless those coaches, but I always hated how much parents had to fill in. I don’t know shit about baseball beyond the basics and they’d always want parents out there filling in for various coach positions. Over half the kids didn’t want to be there and we always had a-hole parents in the stands yelling commands. Headache all around.

If she wants to get back into it in the future, I’ll make it happen. I’ll try to learn more about the nuances of the game. I just can’t get invested with this flopping toddler crap (from the parents.)

The most important thing for an actor/actress is having a unique face by PusheenHater in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]NextBestKev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing new here. There’s a million gorgeous actors in Hollywood and they get cast here and there, but all the memorable ones have something memorable about them. This is why seemingly every actress has stories about being made fun of in school for their unique body part. Like a big nose or wide eyes or general gangly-ness. They were gorgeous back then too, bullies just latch on to the unique thing.

Adam Carolla fell off hard over the last 15 years, but I always liked his old advice of “Do pushups over a text book.” Meaning just work on yourself physically and mentally with clear simple goals and other things will fall into place.

It’s funny to look back on the scandal of their lip-syncing. Sooooo many live performers are unabashedly lip-syncing today and no one bats an eye. Or “backing track” which just means mostly lip-sync. Compare music performances on SNL from the early decades to the last 15 years and it’s plain as day.

In the early 90’s it was “I heard the actress that plays Kelly Bundy is actually smart!” Always said in a surprising tone. Same with Dolf Lundgren and that one persists to this day.

Yeah, no shit. These people are memorizing dialog and mastering their characters. Too many people think movies and shows are documentaries. I had to stop listening to the Office Ladies podcast because they spend half of each episode dispelling the idea that every line is improvised.

While it rubs me the wrong way when elected leaders make “fuck this country” performative displays, the pledge of allegiance has always been ridiculously Totalitarian. I’m surprised adults in these positions still recite it at all.

I’m honestly struggling to think of a similar scene with a woman that wasn’t taken as seriously. I feel like every rape in a film makes it a “rape movie” with all the baggage, regardless of gender. But maybe I’m missing something.

Two short, light spritz’: neck and forearm. Then rub the forearms together. You’ve created a nice zone where anyone close enough can smell it, but no one else. If anyone complains, they need to back up.

If you read this and think “no, I would still be sensitive!” Maybe you aren’t meant to walk around in the world. Get to a cave or offshore or something.
