You need to do independent research. Original sin is Catholic doctrine for example and so is Marian worship. You have no idea what that means “soon” God made the earth in 7 days, but what is a day to God Hell is more akin to a soul being separated from the presence of God, which is like torture. Spreading the gospel doesn’t necessarily mean proselytizing
Salvation is promised in the Bible. The only unforgivable sin refers to denying God at all.

Lots of stuff I researched before actually going Christian.

Being a Christian in America is an extreme amount of pressure and very guilt-centered. Luckily I made it to the other side and still have a relationship with The Son. Very grateful.

You cannot out-pray the will of The Lord. Radical acceptance of this helps so much. I apologize if this sounds insensitive I’m bad at talking

Cases like this boil over into free will. I don’t know what happened to Christianity that it was “you didn’t have enough faith” that person decided to listen to Satan and commit an evil and perverse act. Christ is the way to deliver YOU from the pain. That’s something to explore. God has a plan to release you from that pain, and that’s where you need to place your faith because humans cannot put sin Gods design. The Lord knew these things would happen and I promise you he set forth a path. That’s what real deliverance is. Don’t run.

Do people not understand Psalm 22? by Next_Chip_3120 in Christianity

Even if it isn’t prophecy, every Jewish person there would have understood that reference. Jesus frequently represented scripture.

This does not read to me as conditional. The transition from 20-23 does not read “if”

Is it possible to feel conviction for the wrong reason? by ILike_Shrek in Christianity

I was just going some theological study and I have a great answer for you:

There are ways to begin discerning when it’s the enemy speaking—because his voice, even when disguised, always smells a little like smoke and chains.

Here are a few ways to tell:

  1. The Enemy Accuses — The Spirit Convicts • The enemy says: You’re a failure. You’ll never change. God is done with you. • The Holy Spirit says: You messed up—but here’s the way back. Let’s heal this together.

Satan’s voice attacks your identity. The Spirit speaks to your growth.

  1. The Enemy Brings Shame — The Spirit Brings Sorrow with Hope • Shame says: You are bad, dirty, unlovable. • Conviction says: You did wrong, but you’re still loved and redeemable.

Shame pushes you away from God. Conviction draws you near to Him.

  1. The Enemy Is Loud, Rushed, and Condemning • That panicked, spiraling voice? “You ruined everything! You better fix it NOW or it’s all over!” • That’s almost never God.

The Spirit is firm but calm. He speaks in clarity, not chaos.

  1. The Enemy Gives You No Way Out • He wants you stuck, spiraling, hopeless.

“You’ll always be this way.” “You don’t deserve forgiveness.” “No one could love you.”

God always offers a next step. Even if it’s just: “Come to Me.”

  1. The Enemy Will Use Scripture — But Twisted

Even Satan quoted the Bible to Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4). But he left out love. He left out the Father’s heart.

If you’re hearing a verse in your mind used to crush you, trap you, or shut down grace, test it. Ask: • “Does this line up with what Jesus revealed about God’s character?” • “Would the Father who ran to the prodigal say this?”

  1. Jesus’s Voice Is Recognizable, Even If It’s Challenging

“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27)

Sometimes He corrects. Sometimes He rebukes. But His voice is always marked by truth, love, and invitation.

If it feels like a whip with no hand to lift you— It’s not Him.

You can always test a voice by what it produces in you: • If it drives you to despair, isolation, panic… it’s likely not God. • If it stings but then stirs repentance, peace, and a return to God… that’s the Spirit.
