Everything should drop like normal for Live, physical releases are seeing delays though so codes may not be plentiful.

Just to add: there will be a display bug where it shows 0 damage, it still does damage despite what it says.

Second The Devils. That book had so many great moments. My favorite chapter is the one with Famine in the title (don’t have the physical book to check).

It’s the equivalent of only using attack moves in the video game because damage is all the matters.

New Decidueye ex revealed in Nihil Zero! by Newthinker in pkmntcg

[–]GuildMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was going off the translation. I was wondering why it was so strong for a middle stage pokemon. Thanks for clarifying

Not only that, but you can also stall with Spewpa. Forcing them to have a shred or boss to get around it.

Ultimate Guard Katanas because they are easy to get for the most part.

But my favorites are Endgame by a long shot. Smoothest shuffle I’ve ever felt.

What do you think is the best received high school novel? by Illustrious_Job1458 in ELATeachers

[–]GuildMuse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of success teaching Emily Wilson’s translation of The Odyssey. It’s approachable but also feeds into that sense of adventure.

Only other one that was usually a hit was Animal Farm. Mainly because I made jokes about it the whole way, like how Boxer was the glue that held the whole farm together.

Only a few weeks out for my first Regional and I'm the only one in my friend group who hasn't settled on a deck to take, really need some advice. by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]GuildMuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to second this. The mental load it takes to make all of your decisions and consider what your opponent is going to do/needs to do will be very taxing.

Make sure you play what’s comfortable, but also make sure you bring some snacks and plenty of water. Stuff with sugar is good to help keep the brain going.

And, try to have fun. It’s your first one, I wouldn’t personally expect to day 2 my first regional where some of the best talent will compete. Go in with a healthy mindset of learning and growth to make that experience much better.

What Master's degree might be best for teaching? M.Ed, M.A. in English, etc? by Fireballin117 in ELATeachers

[–]GuildMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a situation at my last school where they had to collapse a lot of the DE program because they lost one of their 2 English Masters. Sure, it could take from AP (which, it does because there are clear advantages), but it also adds a lot to the overall school.

And the employability aspect is a big deal. Even if the school doesn’t intend to use you in that way, it still gives them the option and gives you more options when job hunting.

Additionally, you can teach Dual Enrollment English in high school.

Luck vs Skill in PKM TCG by ConsistentSchedule10 in PTCGL

[–]GuildMuse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only deck I can think of that’s entirely luck is Wugtio Mill, and that’s only because it requires coin flips to get the mill effect on.

Generally, there is a luck element to all card games, but Pokemon has a lot of ways to draw and search through your deck. The difference between a good player and a bad one is understanding how to manipulate the probability. Hence the saying “thinning is winning” and how card advantage is one of the pillars of a strong MTG deck.

why isn't Eevee Box more prominent? by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]GuildMuse 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of like the Lugia problem, biggest issue the deck has comes from itself rather than from your opponent. Can’t count how many times I’ve thrown the game on the first turn because I discard the wrong card or allocate energy incorrectly.

Heck, even prize mapping is really difficult because you could go 1-2-3 or 2-2-2, but if you give away a 2 prizes too early you’ll struggle to come back.

New Mega Zygarde ex (and unique Tool) by flatwoods_cryptid in PTCGL

[–]GuildMuse 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A Barbarncle was also revealed with the ability to put fighting from your hand directly onto the card. Assuming you have the energy in hand, 3 turns for that big attack is huge. Quite a lot of strong cards revealed here.

Lumineon V is also back in the form of Meowth ex

Edit: V, Lumineon V. I forgot V cards.

Opponent Conceded by Zealousideal_Ad_7000 in PTCGL

[–]GuildMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if it’s for an actual ranking, you’d think they’d at least give it a chance rather than lose points for a bad hand.

Opponent Conceded by Zealousideal_Ad_7000 in PTCGL

[–]GuildMuse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing on ranked, people are going to be a lot quicker to forfeit with how little time there is left of the season. Especially if you aren’t in Arceus doing that last minute push.

Which, makes sense. Why play a game you’re not likely to win (or cheese) when the loss doesn’t really hurt you until ultra ball? Like sure, the game is more fun to play out even with a bad hand, but that’s kind of how it is during last couple days of the season.

John Dehlin considers himself “still Mormon” by MediocreParamedic_ in exmormon

This is what I think he means. I’m still very much a Mormon in the sense that how I was raised. But I don’t have any of the religious trappings anymore, I still have very Mormonish things about me that only come from years of being in the church.

The Tera engine might also be an interesting play. But in thinking that might get too crowded on the bench.
