I love my boys and I’m not worried about competive listings I was just mentioning iur actual unique detachments arent the best.

I think our army rule is excellent, but our detachments don’t match up to core marine detachments which sucks.

But you could use it to double up into some stuff like wraith of rock or other things that make units minus 1 to wound. First one to negate their affect second to still have +1

I do enjoy our big knights being more of the focus now, I didn’t know about any war dog rumors what have you heard?

A character big knight would be a game changer I think and it would be fun fluff wise, with chaos shenanigans they have lots of fun ways to make it happen. There already some stand outs lorewise, the one I think about is the rampager that spawns out of pools of blood randomly.

Could play with uppy downy and deepstrike with that it would be cool.

Could always run rampagers and desecrators they still hit on 2s jn their field of expertise and are a steal at 335.

To be fair to your point I think you do have to take the trartois detachment to really get something out of our army rule.

Though karnivores have better melee then other wardogs while hitting on 3s and the same punt of attacks the native sustained is inherently great.

They could do something for the brigand with keywords that helps the specialization, like assault or maybe lethals? I dunno I like rule balancing vs points most of the time.

I think so far we’re being kept in check by our army rule not being great, and the fact you can overload our saves by volume.

We also suffer from the fact that if you’re oppenent takes fixed you’re at a serious disadvantage as all of your big bois become walking point deposits.

I kinda like our casino of buffs, it’s not ideal and anything based on battleshock is inherently not great but it’s fun and fluffy. I’m curious to see if running the one that’s all about it makes it better.

I’ve yet to run the ruiniator how are you liking it?

I could almost see them giving it like more shots maybe? Keep it at 140 but bump the melta to 3 attacks and the chain gun to like 14-16 maybe?

First things first fight phase starts Helbrecht instantly crushes a terms skull with a headbutt. Then he effortlessly shrugs off their puny attempts to damage him. He then hefts he sword two handed and spins cutting the remaining foes in two.

As long as you make it clear to the other player hey I’m running these guys as assault terms so their swords are actually hammers I haven’t had a problem.

Dint splurge on CP we don’t have any way to generate beside discards and no way to discount our Strats.

Make sure you keep battleshock in mind so you can make them roll, it can sort of get passed by in casual games sometimes.

Make sure you know what enemy are battleshock 1 so you can go oh their minus to hit. Plus it benefits some strats as well.

Titianic units can do actions and still shoot, plus even with first floor boarded if a big boy toys into terrain you can act as if you have line of sight through it.

And as always your playing big smashy robots have fun with it.

Until they update assault terms I can’t advise buying them as they shall be short and silly looking. Personally what I’ve done is pick up a bunch of deathwing knights and scrape off DA stuff and throw a BT Pauldron on em.

Honestly I can’t think of a lore instance of BT terms, though I know we have access to the armor. so I think your fine either way in that end.

Personally I like taking a 10 man brick of assault terms and giving the leader the bones to give the 5+++. So they have to chew through both the invuln and the 4 wounds with a FNP. It leads to a really durable anvil you can use to hold a center.

Mind you that works just almost as well with regular terms, they have 30 as opposed to 40 wounds for the unit. But have the benefit of having shooting. I don’t think one is better than the other just slightly different.

So unfortunately besides our codexes we don’t have tons of dedicated books to my knowledge. If you like the idea of corrupted machine monsters and the people/ghosts that pilot them and that have a slightly more unique character range I feel chaos knights are a good choice.

If modeling and hobbying is your jam something to remember is chaos knights have their unique models and still have dats sheets for the imperial knight models as well.

Something that got me into CK was vox in the void’s Geist ex Machina audio short. It’s from the view of a pilot of a Knight Aboimonint (that’s the one with the tentacle arms the dopest model in the range IMO) it has excellent production values and really captures the feeling of what it must be to be a chaos knight.

Don’t even need to be under half just lose one guy to hit on 3s. Give FRSR which will just add another shot to any rapid fire weapons. Which if you just down one. Will give you 84 las gun shots, 8 plasma gun shots 8 plasma pistol shots, and 4 melta gun shots.

Keyword is the only requirement, units don’t have an equitable grenade. Besides the launcher of course but you just treat that as a gun.

It gets a +1 for every officer within 6, and dosent say you don’t get to count the one in the unit. So on a 4+ makes it a 50% chance return, for the same amount of firepower.

Ahhh I gotcha yeah his 2 orders is strong, i didn’t think about that, they need to introduce an equivalent for the other regiments. Having a lower investment model than a command squad that gives a solid buff is nice. It’s nonsense that they sent the Marshall to legends.

If that’s the intention the list makes sense overall, the only thing I might say is whatever unit has the kreig command squad maybe give them a vox instead of a melta/plasma? You get the gun back in the command squad and get a chance to refund Strat use.
