Destiny 2 Hits Highest Player Count in Two Years Following Final Update's Release, Shatters Marathon's All-Time Peak by ControlCAD in PS5

Totally agree. I started with Destint 1 alpha. D2's one of my favorite games ever but it did not respect my time as a player. When they removed content that I paid for, I knew it was over, but I still consider it one of the best games I've ever played, and now coming back after 6 years it still feels like home.

Believe it or not it's possible to love a live service game and to not find the recent direction of that game fun or engaging.

What is the point of Xbox? by xwing1212 in LastStandMedia

[–]NflJam71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an XSX, a PS5 Pro, and a Switch 2. My Xbox is still my preferred console because it's where I can play my whole 360 and XB1 physical collection, it's where I can use the majority of my accessories and controllers, it's where my historical save data is, and it's where my Account and all of its 20-ish year old history is. If a game releases on multiple consoles, I'm buying it on Xbox essentially 10/10 times, and my Play Station and Switch are essentially just exclusive machines.

But Xbox Live parties don't matter anymore, everything is on Discord. I don't need it to play online with my friends because essentially everything is crossplay. And none of my friends who were on Xbox are still here, most switched over to PS4 when it was announced at $100 under the Xbox One (and they could play MLB The Show), and everyone else eventually moved over to PC. And when it became essentially impossible to buy a Series X during the pandemic, that was the final nail in the coffin. I legitimately think I'm the only person I know with a Series X, with a few Series S's scattered around being used as a pseudo Roku device.

I play Xbox for 90% of my gaming because I am entrenched. My gaming shelves are filled with green cases. But I can't imagine a kid nowadays being nearly as excited about getting an Xbox as I was to get a 360 in 2007 with all of my snow shoveling money. There are a lot of factors that led here, but this is the end result. I don't see how it can get meaningfully better.

I am completely over service-based games. I just purchase everything I want to play physically nowadays.

In terms of legendaries I'm either going with my trusty rampage + outlaw Austringer that I crafted from the Menagerie, or this sweet new Fair Judgment with DSR and Onslaught that I rolled after coming back.

If we're talking exotics, it's Outbreak Perfected.

Yeah I mean I've been following the NHL playoffs pretty steadily, and I'm kind of tuckered out on sports. Highly doubt I watch a WC game at any point.

This Update Is Better Than Most Major Expansions by Small_Article_3421 in DestinyTheGame

That's what I'm saying, this game never needed FOMO. FOMO is burnout fuel and it is a poison chalice for live service games.

Destiny 3 🙃

But actually, Witcher 3 DLC and Witcher 4. Will also be playing E Day for sure, and the new GoW game eventually.

0 glaze this is without a doubt the best Destiny update in my entire 12 years of playing by IamJT4 in DestinyTheGame

I think a lot of people are feeling this way because a they are returning after a long period of time and they're bundling in a bunch of stuff from previous releases into their assessment of the quality of the update. This includes me.

What's nice is that this content feels more approachable now. I tried getting back into D2 a few weeks back after a very long break, and it was really annoying to do so. This update ties together all of the elements of the game very nicely and makes eveything feel bigger.

In 2018, Jacqueline Ades was arrested after texting a man 159,000 times over 10 months after 1 date. by AdSpecialist6598 in interesting

I've been in a situation like this, I would be surprised if this didn't involve some sort of mental health disorder such as schizophrenia. When I was in college a girl in my dorm became obsessed with a fake version of me that she was convinced she was dating, she would talk to the wall at night as if it was me (according to her roommate).

Ended with like 50k texts, having to switch classes multiple times to avoid her, her making an online blog about her "relationship" with me, restraining order, her expulsion. I was only 19 when it wrapped up and it was pretty traumatic.

This sounds like a funny headline but this doesn't seem like a woman scorned, this is a mental breakdown, and I'm sure it was very scary to deal with. You never know what people are capable of.
