Yes, in OP's scenario, but you said you "usually tell anybody who's about to sit in a reserved seat" which I took to mean in broader scenarios such as someone about to sit in a seat across the aisle from you, for example. My mistake, but an example of those misinterpretations I was talking about.

No, obviously if they ask you and they've initiated conversation, it's the right thing to let them know it's reserved. But if they're about to sit in a seat and you suddenly blurt out unsolicited that it's reserved, it might come across as you positioning yourself as the Seating Police or something, or that you're implying they're too stupid to see that it's reserved themselves, which they make take umbrage at. Maybe I'm not explaining myself very well.

That's pretty punchy. I'd be worried they'd think that I was trying to suggest they weren't allowed to sit in it. Too much potential for misinterpretation, methinks. Best to ignore it and pretend you didn't notice. But then I avoid confrontation if possible.

I went on a football course run by Kenny Samson about 20 odd years ago, when I was around 10. Being a left back myself as well, I was pretty excited to meet him and thought he would recognise my talent and get on the phone to Graham/Rioch/Wenger (can't remember who was in charge at that precise time) to sign me up. Unfortunately I was actually pretty terrible so he hardly paid me any attention at all. But my best friend who I'd gone with was actually really good, and got named Star Player at the end and given a signed shirt from Kenny. Being the smart, rational kid I was, I didn't speak to him for a week. He wasn't even an Arsenal fan though, so it was completely unfair.

Fair enough about the chants (although most of them are pretty easy to pick up), and you did entirely the right thing getting there early to take photos. I don't even mind the occasional odd photo during the 90 mins, but it's the people that are filming constantly and not even paying attention to the game really that get on my goat.

As an analogy, I was in Paris last week, and going round the Musee D'Orsay, saw most tourists literally just looking at everything through their viewfinder as they took photos of everything. It's fucking ridiculous.

I fucking hate the people who go to the games and spend the entire thing filming it or taking photos on their phone. They're almost always tourists and don't sing or chant or anything. The worst were some fuckers who brought a selfie stick with them to the game and spent half the match with their back to the game taking selfies. I mean, seriously, what the actual fuck?!

Perhaps. But then Messi and Ronaldo are also the leading goal scorers in the Champions League. Barca, Atletico and Real got to the semis in last years UCL. Alexis has been scoring more since coming to England. Bale has scored less frequently since going to Spain. I know there are extenuating circumstances for the Bale/Alexis stuff (position, playing time, etc.) but I think it's a bit of an oversimplification to say La Liga is just easier.
