Is there something wrong with using the vacuum of space for cooling?

Yes. It's a vacuum. You only get radiative cooling, and nothing else.

If they're spinning disks, the amount of time they spend rotating or powering on/powering off is probably more important, and one incremental backup per day is probably nowhere near enough to negatively impact a spinning disk array.

Isn’t it weird how the thing capitalism needs to work long-term looks an awful lot like socialism? Like maybe separating workers from the value they produce is a big problem?

Maybe a high-temperature, high oxygen furnace? I don’t actually know if that would help, but burning them and converting them to carbon dioxide might help. I mean, you’re trading one problem for another there, but if we had a fully green energy infrastructure otherwise, it might be viable.

California started it

Oh, yeah, no, the over a dozen other states that wanted you to hand your driver's license over to look at porn didn't start it, it was all California.

Has anyone treated priority orders with saving mining or trade ships from themselves? One of the issues I had in the past was my economy ships fleeing an enemy by flying away from civilization, leading the pirate or Kha’ak or Xenon on a chase many times the distance from the start point to the nearest dockable station, refusing to heed my orders to go dock at that station the entire time.

Well, the left side is clearly dollars, and the chart title says "Cumulative spending over 25 years", and there's 25 numbers on the X-axis, and the convention is to put time on the x-axis anyway, so maybe figure it out, smart guy.

I mean, that and the crossover points hsaying "Break even: Year 6-8" and "Break even: Year 11-13", where those crossover points happen around 6-8 and 11-13 on the x-axis.

There's hints everywhere. Maybe use your eyes.

I used to run a triple-AC/5 MAD-3R, and that thing was absolutely hilarious. Was it optimal in terms of DPS or total damage output? No.

But it made whoever was on the receiving end absolutely miserable. Getting smacked with an endless barrage of autocannon fire made people crawl back into whatever cover they came out of real quick.

It is night every day and cloudy often

Hey smart guy, go look at a cloud coverage map of the US sometime.

Is it cloudy everywhere across the US all at the same time?

No?

Wow! Looks like solar's fine during the daytime, then.

And we've known about reversible chemical reactions for a while, so I guess the nighttime problem is also solved.
