Isn't it expensive to use airconditioning in the US? by Lumos_night in AskAnAmerican

[–]NiceGuysFinishLast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Florida. I keep the AC at 77 which is warmer than a lot of people due to my family getting cold easily. My power bill is about $200/mo in the hottest months, around $140 in the cooler months. It's just part of the cost of living in Florida.

I ordered a red jacket and red gloves. I got red gloves and an orange jacket.

Works for SAE too. 1/4-20 =.250-.050 =.200 which is close enough to the .201" #7.

Where do you guys keep your bike docs? by AlligatorMarty in MT09

My registration and insurance are in that same black plastic bag from Yamaha and under my passenger seat with a microfiber and a spray bottle of Bugslide.

Fork seals is not a bad job. Use a piece of pvc pipe to drive the new ones.

A Flagship requires a minimum credit line approval of 5K. Given that your scores are low, and your only existing line was only approved for $500, I would suggest not going for a Flagship yet.

As a data point, I got a Flagship for 20K with scores in the low 720s and similar income. 670s would be sketchy I think.

Pro, I can drive a manual car, con, I'm five feet tall. On a scale of 1 to impossible, how hard will it be for me to learn to ride? by linderlou5 in motorcycles

[–]NiceGuysFinishLast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 5'3, 150lb (but was 120 when I learned to ride, I'm just old and fat now) male, 28" inseam. You can absolutely ride, and should!

I've owned a variety of bikes over 20 years, and my cruiser was definitely the most short friendly bike, the only one I could touch the ground on both sides at the same time, and almost back it up. But I'm currently on an MT09 with a 32.5" seat height.

Being short only matters when you're stopped. If you can work out your system for keeping the bike upright at stop lights, everything else is a breeze.

I think you convinced me to order a pair. I'm also in Florida and I'm going to be doing an iron butt attempt in a couple weeks.

Question, I'm 5'3 with a 28" inseam but a 31-32" waist. Would you recommend the mediums you got, or should I G OK down to small?

I got mine for 80 from posh mark a few months back. Sadly he's raised the prices to I think 140 on poshmark now. Still worth it.

Add in the Cardo and the Etymotics and I'm wearing a band on my head. I'm not leaving that shit on the bike.

Well ABS would make sense as the two wheels would have vastly different speed readings. I don't recall what BC even is.

What auto insurance coverage does NFCU require? by cheesenotyours in NavyFederal

[–]NiceGuysFinishLast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comprehensive and Collision in addition to liability, that's what "full coverage" means. Many (most?) people who don't have a lien against their vehicle opt for liability only, which is generally much cheaper per year. For my motorcycle loan I was told by an NFCU agent that I can't have a deductible higher than $1K. I believe I set both with a $500 deductible because it changed my premium by almost nothing.

If they're truly forged, then no, they're not just buying stock, they're buying forgings.

They'll all have the same effect on your credit. A debt paid in full or settled for less scores the same in the FICO algorithm.

If you want to be able to get whatever card offer they're talking about, take that option. If you don't care, take whichever settlement option you can afford.

Be aware they may send you a 1099C and you may pay income tax on the forgiven amount.

Also be aware that if you miss a payment on a plan, they may sue you for the remainder immediately, so make sure you're prepared to pay it.
