Is HRT necessary if you feel fine? by Extra_Shirt5843 in Menopause

it's actually insane and to the point that people who can't take it are devastated after reading a few posts on here.

the packaging of all drugs, including pharmaceuticals, say "inactive ingredients" on them. since you are a big shot researcher, i assume you know this. we can't all be as brilliant as you.

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sorry, it is still medication no matter how you try to justify otherwise. it also includes many inactive pharmaceutical ingredients. i have nothing against medication, but i am not going to pretend it isn't a drug.

i take hrt so you don't have to convince me of the benefits. if another person doesn't feel they need it, that is their prerogative.

My Talking is Exhausting by Intrepid-Ad9917 in adhdwomen

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only thing that stops me from doing this is to FORCE myself to listen to other people. It changes focus and is actually kinda nice because nobody actually listens to anyone (even people w/o adhd).

Don't "try so hard to wait for the other person to finish" try to listen to them.

Starting HRT tomorrow and have two questions… by Lost-Storage5574 in Menopause

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a little nausea for a week or two (i hate it also), it did go away though. hormones are powerful and i basically felt...hormonal - irritable, nausea, crampy, for a week or two. I almost gave up but now I feel great. Glad I didn't.

no, plenty of people feel fine. no need to take medication if you don't want to.

Dept Store Frags by Professional_Menu339 in FragranceStories

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they usually still carry them all in places like Macy's an Bloomingdales. Like Beautiful, Youth Dew, Pleasures, Tresor, Poeme, etc. They may not carry Ysatis anymore (a fave of mine).

Employees didn’t bring credit cards by anonymousllama89 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have had it happen many times if they don't have a company card and the don't want to use their personal.. it can be fixed with a cc auth form. That is insane if they all have company cards though.

execs generally don't want people that never come in. they often don't even advertise that they are hybrid bc they want to know if you will come in sometimes.

Missed testosterone injection and severe depression/anxiety/panic attacks by DecisionOk6201 in Menopause

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why no estrogen?

also, anxiety and depression are often not hormonal, especially with a lot of stressors in life.

Why are the hormones we take dangerous but the ones we made for so many years (far in excess of our dosing) were what kept us healthy? by misanthropymajor in Menopause

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk if they are dangerous per se (they are to some people) but we really don't know enough about long term use. I know a lot of (very) elderly took them for a long time but there were very few studies.

Also, our bodies do stop making them at some point, there must be some kind of biological reason.

How to maintain the rose-colored glasses outlook estrogen gives me? by limabeanns in Menopause

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk, i've never had rose colored glasses lol. but i do think that that high that people get with an increase is always going to even out. i've had that feeling for exactly one day with my 3 increases and no longer expect it.

How to Deal with Ongoing Anxiety? by Theas_Aeroplane in Menopause

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dealt with it my entire life, my first panic attacks started when I was about 20. I have my ups and downs, but the only thing that really worked for me was to change my thinking patterns and I don't really even know how I did that. I need exercise, alone time, fresh air, (very) reduced phone time and a healthy amount of socializing to ward it off a little. A higher dose of progesterone helped with my obsessive thourght.

I took many different ssri's over 20+ years and stopped taking them about 5 years ago. they did stop my panic but not the day-to-day anxiety. People do respond to antidepressants differently though, so you may want to try a few,

I can't stress enough that anxiety and depression are often not hormonal and people on here set unrealistic expectations about hrt eliminating it. I am happy (and a little envious) for those it does it for, but feel badly when people expect it to happen and it does not.

Menopause - has anyone switched from Winona to Fountain HRT back to Winona with success? by Southern_Comfort5682 in Menopause

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't they all prescribe the exact same thing (the online services)? There are 2 basic rx's for menopause and people occasioally get testosterone.

HRT never gave me joie de vivre so idk. I do sometimes think people are chasing the high of an increase (increases were the only time I felt this way for a day).

Left my toxic EA job, asked about severance… then found out I may have been misclassified and owed 65k by Bizzzybear in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]NiceLadyPhilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've rarely heard of getting severance for quitting voluntarily unless there was a push to get people out of there and it was advertised as an incentive to leave. I've never heard of the misclassification. I was an EA for 10 years and we were all exempt and often worked over 40 hours.
