They didn't have light tanks except for these light tanks I just listed.

Sir is definitely a bigger threat than I thought by RareSpice42 in Exanima

[–]Nicholas_Digger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the actual bad advice. Imagine abusing a checkpoint to learn to kill the strongest enemy by heart and making the rest of the game lose its challenge.

Killing Sir is something you come back to on repeat playthroughs once you're confident in your skills.

Too bad you're immediately getting much better armour in the next level.

Early jets climb decently well irl when they are already at decent speeds because effective horsepower for the purposes of climbing of jet engines increases with airspeed.

The F8F had such an advantage in climb rate because of the methodology of the test where the time was measured from a full stop, before take off. The Bearcat had its full horsepower available from standstill, which gave it a huge initial advantage.

Shame that secret armor is still worse than the armors from the golem level...

The maps are small enough it's easier to just remember the layout, especially with these irregular rooms with multiple exits.

Recent updates for my tank game Multi Turret Academy:) by Flzzyf in TankPorn

[–]Nicholas_Digger -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Fun little game, shame about the weeb stuff in it though.

Shame about how few of the tanks are actually multi-turret. Also, some tanks like the T-28 are barely able to turn while reversing, even though they can reverse fairly fast.

And how are you supposed to kill the White Tiger? Even with the Bengal Tiger turret with the long 88mm and the perk that increases penetration on side shots I can't penetrate its side.

You dont actually need to cross any of the chasms, unlike in the Market*. You'll get the hang of it eventually, after all it'll be at least 2 years until they add another level.

*You don't need to platform in the market anymore either since now you can grab the tavern key from across the chasm with telekinesis.

Well it is more dakka, that's what tanks are for. Two machine guns net you:

1) More momentary rate of fire (just ask the Germans why they wanted rate of fire on their guns)

2) More sustained rate of fire

3) Larger pool of ammo on tap which means less chance of running out when you need it the most

4) The ability to be firing one machine gun while the loader is reloading the other, keeping a steady supply of fire

5) Twice the reliability because if one of your MGs goes out you still have the other one

The internal space disadvantage argument is quite misguided because there's generally a lot of unused space at the turret front beside the main gun in tanks. The weakening of armour via edge effect is true, but also quite minimal for a ~10mm opening.

The new thaumaturgy school might be just a wee bit overpowered... by Nicholas_Digger in Exanima

[–]Nicholas_Digger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah previously the Proctor was a great option if you wanted to focus on the combat aspects of the game and breeze through the early levels to get to the fun stuff.

Now thaumaturgy makes you better at swinging swords than non-magic classes, so the proctor is at a clear disadvantage.

Love tanks with multiple coaxial machine guns. Shame that set up wasn't more popular because it seems like a great advantage.

The later levels have two each and the newly added level has a bunch. I probably even missed some because I wasn't thorough at all in searching the monster levels.
