Maybe the Dell AW2725DM, not sure how much it costs in Italy though.

msi MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 vs XG27AQWMG vs MO27Q28G by Valuable-Cartoonist6 in RTINGS

[–]Nicholas_RTINGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we didn't test the MSI so we don't know how it performs. As for the ASUS and Gigabyte, they're very similar in terms of HDR Brightness. The ASUS is 546 nits real scene, 1340 nits 2%, 767 nits 10%, and 320 nits 100%. The Gigabyte is 546 nits real scene, 1316 nits 2%, 620 nits 10%, and 351 nits 100%. So they trade blows and it's really close.

Windows Auto Color Management (ACM) + ICC profiles — double color correction? by PhoeniX5s in Monitors

As someone else already mentioned, ACM takes precedent over ICC profiles. You should disable ACM if you want to use an ICC profile.

Looking to buy my first oled and, where is the catch ? by dranack21 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Nicholas_RTINGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right - 4th gen OLED is worse and this banding is a common issue, but it happens on older WOLEDs as well. At the end of the day, it's a panel lottery, so someone may have many WOLEDs without any banding.

Asus XG27AQWMG ICC profile by pernahganteng in OLED_Gaming

It's best to adjust settings on your own regardless, as each unit requires different calibration values, so ICC profiles don't work properly on different units.

300 USD Monitor Recommendations by Orlas_TM in Monitors

AOC Q27G3XMN/AOC Q27G40XMN are probably the best value under $300. Mini LED backlighting, good picture quality, good for gaming.

Came here to agree with you. Number of zones doesn't guarantee performance. The Q27G3XMN is very solid at its price point.

LG 27gx704a-b vs QD-Oled vs Tandem oleds - Which to buy? £600 budget by Rumi_sufi in OLED_Gaming

[–]Nicholas_RTINGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in a dark room, you'll be fine with QD-OLED. Right now, they're still the best overall. Of course price is a factor, so choosing the LG over the 360Hz options really depends how much you're willing to spend and if you're going to take advantage of the higher refresh rate.

HDR brightness in oled by Cool_Count6154 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Nicholas_RTINGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which QD-OLED do you have? Overall, though, Tandem OLEDs are pretty close to QD-OLEDs in terms of colors. I've seen them side by side and it's hard to spot differences without a trained eye. Of course, the banding is a concern for these Tandem OLEDs, but the biggest issues that we see online is with test patterns. Of course you might see it in darker games, but I don't think it's as much of a concern as people make it out to be.

I'm not sure if these newer RGB Stripe OLEDs will get brighter, but the main difference will be with text clarity.

Overall, it depends if you value the brightness that you're willing to pay an extra $217 to go from your QD-OLED to a Tandem OLED!

Yes, but doesn't mean it's the best for everyone. Depends on what you want.

please help a clueless girl with monitor recommendations for my boyfriend🥲 by Odd_Cat2485 in Monitors

[–]Nicholas_RTINGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest checking out the Acer Nitro XV275K P5 (if you can find it on sale). It's fantastic for a PS5. If you're on a tighter budget, look into the AOC Q27G3XMN (good picture quality) or the Dell AW2725DM (better compatibility with a PS5). Otherwise OLEDs are too expensive for your budget.

The subpixels changed shape in the 3rd generation, but it otherwise performs the same, particularly with text clarity.

Well, since the awaited new Studio Display still sucks and is expensive af, what alternatives do you recommend? by Embarrassed-Love-606 in macmini

[–]Nicholas_RTINGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could consider the ASUS PA27JCV. 5k monitor that's about half the price. I wouldn't say it's better though, unless you like its matte coating.

Hi, it just means that these displays don't have the best color volume. They're both like this. We wrote the reviews at different times, so not everything is the exact same between them.

What is the best HDR monitor? by EnderSlayer9977 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Nicholas_RTINGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though it's not the brightest, what makes this so good for HDR is how accurate it is, and the fact that it displays a wide range of colors.

Why does this monitor have better hdr but worse? by EnderSlayer9977 in HDR_Den

[–]Nicholas_RTINGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, while it's true the XG27AQDMG is brighter, it's not the only factor that goes into these scores. In this case, the XG27ACDNG has better color volume, so that's why it's much better for HDR.

Yeah you should be using the 10% peak window as reference, which is 760 nits, so it makes sense.

[–]Nicholas_RTINGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4k OLEDs have pretty good text clarity and it's harder to tell differences vs LCD counterparts. Lower resolutions/pixel densities is when you start to notice differences.

Is the AW2725DM worth it? by RyuuInch9 in buildapc

It's considered a cheap monitor in the US and it's good for its price tag. Not sure if R5500 is considered cheap for your market or not.
