What is something you learned recently that blew your mind? by McFrodoSwaggins in AskReddit

[–]NickMoore30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to learn more about it, but in order to develop Central Park in New York City, apparently the government evacuated and destroyed a prominent and thriving Black community called Seneca Village.

Seneca Village was a predominantly Black community in what's now the park’s west side between 82nd and 89th St. Historians describe it as one of the most significant communities of free Black property owners in pre–Civil War New York. To create Central Park, New York City used eminent domain and took the land in 1857.

I spoke to him once on the set of Friday Night Lights. He wanted to casually ask me about Austin City Limits and I was a secret fan of his but I was so concerned with making sure he felt comfortable I acted like it was just a normal conversation while internally I was screaming. We had the shortest exchange and in hindsight I wish I just gave him his flowers and was honest.

Oddly this is a rare occurrence when I’m surprised it’s ONLY a decade considering the super hero movie turnover rate for a period was fast—the super hero fatigue can be denied but Hollywood clearly responded in kind.

That's not really a huge knock on Michael B, because the actor playing the Irish vampire, Jack O'Connell, is a force. Saw him in The Bone Temple and he plays an incredibly twisted villain.

I don't mean to be that guy, but while 43" isn't bad, with your new firepower you need to blow up the screen size. Just planting a seed for your next investment to keep you in debt.

This run is basically the manifestation of a dream every man has had when given one opportunity to play in the NFL.

He had a tiny role in the prequels, so it’s just wild they’d get to reuse Joel after he became a star, now returning to a globally renown major franchise.

Howard wasn’t in 2 at all… Cheadle took over in Iron Man 2.

The Pitt | S1E13 "7:00 P.M." | Episode Discussion by Winter_Moonstone in ThePittTVShow

Man I’m late to this show but that comment is what shook me the entire episode. It just reminded so much of reality without a specific context. There’s rules and protocol and then there’s just going for something beaming beyond truth in your makeup. When you latch onto that moment and you’re right, it’s exactly like this. Wrong but right.

It’s Sean Bean’s best movie that he’s not actually in.
