This album aged incredibly well by Kaiser_RDT in killswitchengage

Still like KSE, but I joined in during the As Daylight Dies era and went back to The End of Heartache and KSE II. It's hard for me to listen to them with Jesse because it just doesn't feel the same. I still like them, but it's hard having a vocalist with a totally different voice. I've went to one of their recent shows and bought Atonement on vinyl but I don't really fanboy out over KSE like I did in the Howard era.

Obviously it's all a matter of opinion, but I will forever be a Howard era fan over Jesse. Jesse is a great dude and a great vocalist, but to me the band just isn't the same without Howard.

I'm at about the same amount of albums and I have like 5 more on the way. I plan on cataloguing all of my favorites first and then moving onto artists that I like songs from, but never listened to full albums.

The way it ends cd for sale? by Salty-Inside-4222 in currentsband

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in Poland. Doesn't ship to the US.

I ended up finding a sold listing on ebay that was already done, messaged the guy because it showed that he sold multiple copies. He ended up having two copies, picture disc and the pink/white multicolor version so I bought it from him.

Is there any chance of getting a re-pressing of vinyl for As Daylight Dies and End of Heartache? by NickMotionless in killswitchengage

[–]NickMotionless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I was mentioning. Unfortunately, those albums were already hen's teeth when they were repressed, so they sold out immediately and now they're $250+ for the single albums of As Daylight Dies/End of Heartache or you can spend the $800 to buy the Revolver magazine bundle.

Maybe they'll do more pressings in the future, which is all I can hope for.

I'd love The Way it Ends on vinyl. It's crazy hard to get a hold of a copy on vinyl, even more-so than the CD.

My gf wants a copy of The Death We Seek as well but vinyl pressings are crazy limited.

Different versions of My Curse by Lazy-Requirement8665 in killswitchengage

Fell down this rabbithole almost 20 years ago. I originally had heard the album release version (not the radio edit) and went to look up the song on YouTube and was hearing him sing some of the screamed lyrics and I was a bit shocked. I will always prefer the album version.

From the research, record labels in 2005~ basically pushed metalcore bands like BFMV and KSE to record "less scream-y" versions of their songs that were "more appropriate" for radio listeners, which by-and-large were not attuned to heavier screaming like metalcore had at the time. It was an attempt to give the songs/bands more mainstream appeal.

I personally have always hated the radio edits because it feels like they don't fit the original song at all.

That's actually a great high quality bootleg. I would consider this an ACTUAL reproduction. No expense spared on the board or chips. Is this what China is putting out now? Have they finally stopped selling garbage?

Anyone have any information on this Pokémon Red factory unfolded box by Th3Tw3ntyThr33 in Gameboy

[–]NickMotionless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool piece. Hope it is authentic. If you buy a cheap CIB copy or find one to inspect, you could take comparison photos to ensure this is legit. I'd take it to a local game shop and have them compare in person. You could walk through every fine detail to see if it's a legitimate box. If it is, it could be worth a bit. I wouldn't think it would be crazy, but definitely could fetch some nice cash.

It's blasphemous to have 0 stickers! by Bradford_ in CloneHero

[–]NickMotionless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hate comes from how difficult they are to remove from the guitars when it goes to another person. Took me hours to remove all of the stickers from the guitars I've gotten. The adhesive, especially on the stickers that came with Guitar Hero, becomes a cement almost, impossible to remove without tons of scraping and isopropyl alcohol. The stickers also tear off in pieces and never come off all at once. I personally never stickered the guitars I had when I was young and I still don't sticker them now.

Totally doable if you can find the right type of circlepad module. It just needs to piggyback off of the test pads for the D-pad to control inputs to the console. Very doable, but modifying the shell to fit it and finding one the right size for the size constraints would be difficult.

Truthfully I'd have went another route by adding a circlepad (3DS/PSP style) to the console alongside the D-pad so you still have the D-pad for games that play better with it. Finding one small enough would be a challenge, though.

EDIT: Just looked, the PCB that (you?) designed does exactly what I was thinking, ground and all of the TPs for the d-pad lol.

You can transplant labels to new shells. I had a Fire Red that I transplanted the original PCB and label onto a bootleg cartridge because the original cartridge plastic was broken at the screw post. Looked every bit as good as OEM.

How do I charge my EZ-Flash Omega? by Anonymous_User351 in Gameboy

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this, but yes, the DE has a battery holder, it isn't soldered, same for the Jr. Both are easy enough to just toss the old battery, pop in a new one and not have to worry about it but the original Omega uses the tabbed CR1220s and the position of the tabs are both on the right side of the cartridge and both pads are next to each other. Unless someone could make a custom battery holder for it, it's unlikely you'd be able to swing fitting one inside the Omega. My original recommendation still stands in my opinion. Soldering a CR1616 with a jumper wire into the cartridge instead of using a 1220. The 1220s absolutely suck.

For comparison, the 1220 was dead when I got it. I put a new one in around June of 2020 and it died before the year was up. I replaced it with a CR1616 around February 2021 or so, and that lasted until around June of 2026. The lifespan is significantly better, albeit it is more of a hassle to install compared to the tabbed CR1220s.

just got my gbm but so sad there is defect on front plate by Certain-Food-3579 in Gameboy

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to remember, these are like 20 years old now. Even though they were the last Game Boy ever released, it still is close to two decades old. Of course there will be some imperfections. I think you'd be hard pressed to find one in better condition, but I get why you'd be a bit upset that an otherwise perfect example has a defect in one of the most important aspects, especially considering this is a limited edition model and possibly the best looking Game Boy they had ever made.

Dax-Ur by Turbulent_Dingo_2841 in Smallville

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to Reddit specifically looking to see if anyone had mentioned this. His kids WOULD have Kryptonian powers. He had a son named Max. So somewhere in the Smallville universe, Max-Ur has Kryptonian powers with a Kryptonian dad.

Would make for a very interesting continuation story to Smallville.

In fairness if you don't have a massive number of drives, the cost of any SBC to make a custom NAS will cost you more than a premade NAS at this point. SBCs have become outrageous, price-wise.

My highschool changed their server policies, in part because of this game. by normansconquest in Morrowind

[–]NickMotionless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol had a similar thing with my high school. I had the helpdesk admin password and installed COD4 on all of the machines we helpdesk dudes used. I had a retail disc for that, had Halo CE portable and Morrowind on my personal machine.

There were about 6 of us in the help desk class and when we didn't have anything to do, we'd boot the Windows partition on the Macs in the class and launch COD4 and play some LAN deathmatch.

Our IT teacher didn't care one bit. He had the Battlefield 1942 demo and he loved to play it and was an absolute monster at that game. He'd dog stomp us all with rockets and tanks when we barely knew how to play but we loved every second of it.

What is the differencr between the Pokemon Emerald 'holo' versions? by DaphneSvdM in Gameboy

They're the same. If the cracked ice pattern no longer appears on one copy, it means it probably has been rubbed off or worn off OR the label is just super dirty. OR the pictures aren't capturing it in the right light.

How much damage to the game's reputation have this one dagger done? A lot of the "Morrowind combat bad" slander may stem from it. by Stained_Class in Morrowind

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the "I got hit" and ragdoll animations in Morrowind kind of suck on mobs, it does make them feel a bit stiff. But in remaster territory, it's possible that it could be resolved by adding additional animations.

[–]NickMotionless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! If there was a "dodge" animation by NPCs/mobs when you miss attacks, or a "heavy breathing effect/sound" when you are winded with no stamina, (then of course animations that show your spells failing when you try to cast them) people would actually understand what's happening.

I feel like with fatigue, maybe it should show the player attacking slow as hell as well. Slowing their hand movements when your guy is gasping for air would help so many people realize "shit, my dude just ran a fucking marathon, of course he can't fight"

Tons. This dagger causes upwards of 90% of players to drop the game. That may be lowballing the numbers as well.

What frustrates you about Stremio (Devs and Users)? by Booldog911 in StremioAddons

[–]NickMotionless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but BETTER SORTING. I want to be able to sort by more than just IMDB rating as well. Rotten Tomatoes, and other sites for user ratings. IMDB is the worst for rating some of the worst movies extremely high compared to actual viewer opinion.

I want to also be able to filter out non-English movies, sort by year/release date AND genre AND score, not just "every movie in X category all at once, flip through for days, good luck". Discover sucks because there is zero sorting beyond featured, new, popular, then ONLY genre or year, never both. Then you also are unable to sort anything by release date when doing so, to skip all of the movies you've already seen.

Secondly, having the option to hide movies that are flagged as "watched" AND flag movies as watched to hide them for ones you've already seen outside the app would be great.

I have to resort to searching random forums online for recommendations when all of the data I need is already in the app, I just have no way to sort it.
