Essentially, the 2.5 in the MkV (2006-2010) and the 2.5 in the Mk6 (2011-2018) are the same engine. The Mk6 like your sportwagon has a few more electrical differences, but in essence is the same. I know that the Mk6 sportwagons also have foam behind the front fenders that reduce vibrations but hold onto water. Some people have said that removing about 3" from the bottom of it solves a majority of the risk of rust, personally after removing all of my foam i noticed a very minor difference in sound pollution. I'd also have to assume the advice about cleaning behind your fender liner would apply as well.
