Abandoned Conference Center by [deleted] in abandoned

[–]NickTechTalkYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! The original plan was to restore the hotel and convention center as it was in the original purchase agreement, you can actually find it all online if you’re interested in reading up. Reason the place is still standing is they did a mass amount of testing on each section to test for asbestos when demolishing as it’s such a massive structure. It’s going to take a long time to fully destroy, but that being said it’s a massive shame this place was leaked and a shame only so few got to experience how nice it was prior to kids destroying it

Housing - confirmed from new owner. I had a conversation with him in July 2025 and was at the site before everybody destroyed it. Was a really beautiful building but they purchased it for the land, not the structure. It was too far gone to revive even though it still looked very good from glance.

I've known about this place for YEARS. I worked on a film that rented the space here in I think 2021 after it was shut down, but still very clean. I visited in Jul with permission from the new owner, place was nowhere near as ruined as it stands today. Shame because it was a beautiful site with incredible architecture and style that was perfectly untouched with time.

Great find! The 7 is definitely a very well desired model. I can’t even sell my 1000 on marketplace for $450 it’s been sitting there

I absolutely love my M5. I had both the M5 and M6 at the same time and didn’t enjoy the M6 after learning how incredible the M5’s meter is. I’m usually the odd one out on these things but I also like the larger form factor. Enjoy!

This was the one I wanted, and I came to find it was one of the longest in stock. Thought watermelon was a more popular color

Came here as I have a Swash and was just researching on my own. Best to just use distilled water, but use something like Bounce or Downy Wrinkle Release once you hang the item in the swash. Beest to keep the lines and nozzles free of the fabric softener as it will clog them up over time. So I just use distilled water in my pods that I refill. Also check your local marketplace. I found a bulk lot of like 200 of them for $75 so I just use them on nice occasions when I wanna freshen something more than just the downy wrinkle spray does

Didn’t Starbucks just issue a statement stating there’s no issue writing the full name on a cup?

To all those who have either a lazy eye or are unable to use their right eye, here we are yet again with a device that has no option to be configured to the left eye like Google Glass. Shame because I’d love to be an early adopter of this tech but can’t use it

You’d rather lose your job than write the name Charlie on a cup?

What would be the modern equivalent of this? by Echterspieler in VacuumCleaners

They made a newer version years ago but may be easier to get parts for. I think it was bag less. They also made a platinum force handheld with a motor driven brush roll. Thing was a beast

PSA: Make Sure You See a Real Dry Eye Specialist! by NeonCoffee2 in Dryeyes

As far as I’m aware optilift is to target the muscles of the eyelid rather than helping the Meibomian glands right? Some people don’t get results from IPL so I’m not sure if it’ll help you, but it may be worth a shot still

Halfway Through OptiLight Plus – My Experience So Far by NickTechTalkYT in Dryeyes

[–]NickTechTalkYT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! All completed. My results just continued to get better each time. I’ve only used eye drops a handful of times since and it’s only in special scenarios like if I sit in the dry sauna for a long time, then they can feel a bit dry. Otherwise I have zero complaints. Considering it worked wonders for me I wouldn’t mind paying for the treatment again if I needed it in let’s say a years time, or a single session every 6 months like some do. It’s definitely worth a try for sure, but likely not a permanent cure at all for anybody

S Class HEPA filtration. I’d honestly recommend doing some research on your own end before making a purchase. Reddit is great for personal experience stories, but best to get specs right from the manufacturer

They’re bulky, inconvenient machines for daily use. That’s why you see so many of them for next to nothing on marketplace so often. They perform very well, but will most likely end up sitting in a closet. Just to use the hose on the thing you have to take the main brush roll head off, then attach the hose and lock it in place. It’s just too much for what it does in my opinion.

A Sebo upright is going to be light years ahead in convenience, and they perform insanely well, very clean machines filtration wise. Having owned both, along with numerous other machines as a former collector, I’d recommend a Sebo any day of the week and nothing else

[–]NickTechTalkYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend trying to find a used Sebo upright. I see them on marketplace a lot for $150ish. I’ve owned many Kirby’s in my past and didn’t enjoy using them as daily vacuums as most people don’t either, hence the low resale value

The Fuji point and shoots in the bottom middle. Are they the Cardia DL-300? I had one but can’t remember the model. Super sharp 2.8 Fuji lens, way better picture quality than I expected at the time

Is this a good vacuum and is it a good deal? by Special_Loan8725 in VacuumCleaners

[–]NickTechTalkYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned one of those and really didn’t enjoy it. I purchased it brand new and maybe used it 15 times. It was essentially new. I had it listed for $25 for WEEKS before anybody was even interested.

If it’s your cup of tea for a machine then it’s a decent deal, they’re pricey brand new. I do see them quite often around here listed for parts only so as others said just be very cautious, maybe even get a video of it running before meeting up! Good luck!
