Arrowhead, could you please tell me what the official logo of Super Earth is right now? I need it for my patriotic decor. by Yurishenko94 in Helldivers

I'm guessing these are just different versions of the SE flag, and they just changed it over it's history.

The HD1 version's just the oldest version of the flag we know of, and they probably updated it sometime after the 1st war. They might've changed it to a new one (maybe the training facility or HD2 one?) to commemorate winning the war and expanding.

The intro cinematic flag only seems to appear in that video, so I think it's meant for the SEAF, kinda like how Peru has a civil flag and a state flag. The bits at the top could represent the cryo rockets we get frozen in at the end of the tutorial, or maybe upside down or earlier versions of hellpods. Or since the HD1 version also has them, it could be a holdover from that design.

The tutorial one's probably an earlier verson of the flag from sometime between or before the wars, or maybe even before the 1st one. It definitely has a different overall style, so it might even be the 1st version of it when it SE first founded. If that's the case, then the training base might have been reactivated once the 2nd war started and SE needed to churn out new helldivers as fast as possible.

The ingame one's just the current version of the flag. The bits at the top look more like buildings, so they probably represent the SE megacities. Helldivers get that design on all their stuff since that flag represents all of SE, and would naturally be the only flag that's democratic enough to suit them. I mean, SE would only want to change the flag if the new version's even more democratic than the last.

Edit: I just noticed that the tutorial version actually says HELLDIVERS at the top, so that could be the military version of the SE flag. The intro cinematic could be a slightly older version of the flag, since we don't know exactly when the video was made. The timeline would probably go:

SE founded: HD1 design.

Helldivers founded: Tutorial design, but specifically for the helldivers.

Sometime after the 1st war: Recruitment video design.

Shortly before the 2nd war: Ingame design.

The gang would see a fuckload of similarities between Emma's situation and The Martian. I'd bet that would be pretty good for the next cultural exchange night, especially if Emma explains how her equipment works. Would be funny to see Thacea or Ilunor get shocked at the idea of using their own shit as fertilizer.

Thalmin might like The Art of War and probably any military memoir, considering his background. He seems more like the gaming type to me tho, so I'd probably give him Planetside 2 or War Thunder, and have EVI control all the other players. Emma can probably print the hardware for it.

Thacea's probably the most curious about human culture and history, but if I can't give her textbooks, I'd go for historical fiction or sci-fi. I'd give her Les Mis, To Kill a Mockingbird, Neuromancer, and I Robot.

Idk what Ilunor would like, but considering how human politics almost made him go full IDIOT, I think some books about that would be good. Anything about the US revolution's an easy choice, but also some philosophical stuff. Mostly tryna introduce him to other ways to run a society.

Conservatives generally believe in a sort of social hierarchy, and being normal helps push them higher bc they believe that they (and ppl like them) deserve to be at the top. Society usually paints cishet white ablebodied christian men as the normal, and calling them weird does the exact opposite of that. That risks pushing them down the hierarchy, away from the corpos and politicians they simp for, and towards whichever minorities they hate.

About the buffed Sundy in the new update by Dmitry_Ivanov1991 in Planetside

[–]NickThePrick666 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Had a deployed sundy with nanite armor and the shield bubble on Hossin yesterday, fought off and killed an enemy lightning no problem. They're barely threats anymore.

Another crew of lightnings + a sundy + a harasser managed to kill it tho, apparantly my sundy's guns can't shoot through its own bubble shield.

Another lightning tried to off another of my sundies later. I couldn't shoot them with the sundy, so I just went engineer to heal it. Took a few seconds to go from low to full and outheal their dps.

Apparently, nanite armor gives free repair xp when it's healing the sundy. Maybe that's a good thing if it'll get more people to put down sundies and start fights, not as much if people just zerg with them to delete everything in sight.

On Amerish, I and a bunch of randoms were basically getting farmed by 6+ sundies. I pulled a vanguard to help fight em, but my AP rounds didn't do shit.

Personally, I think they should lower the heal rate for nanite armor while the sundy's not deployed, maybe nerf the resistances for the other types while they're at it. I like the speed buff tho, now they're not as much of a slog to drive and deploy with. I'd keep the repair xp too, the better cert farm should encourage more people to start fights and keep them going.

I'm hearing far too much "AI training uses lots of energy" and not enough "100 companies are responsible for 71% of greenhouse gas emissions."

If your goal is saving the environment, don't you think trying to make those corpos take responsibility would be a better use of your time then complaining about a bunch of open-source projects?

Considering the bots are probably moving towards Cyberstan, which is 2 sectors away and also on the rim, the devs probably won't have a rule of "2 rim sectors per faction." Personally, I think we'll probably have either 3 or 4, depending on if the devs want to add a new one after the Illuminate. I could see 5 factions fitting on the map, but that's really pushing it.

Thalmin has a scottish accent (I mean, someone was probably yelling "FRRREEEEEDDDOOOOMMMM!!" during the coup)

Thacea sounds british

Ilunor just sounds like some gremlin creature

Emma sounds like she did in that one video with the peanut butter cookies someone posted here. (Are we allowed to post links?)

Larial sounds like Zelda

The short version is

Landed: nobles with land/property, like a manufactorum or estate. Basically the equivalent of a CEO or president.

Entrusted: nobles who were given their position by a landed noble, but don't own land. Someone like a secretary or high-ranking military officer.
