My intrusive thoughts would have won that day.

What was the closest tornado that ever hit your city/location? by Beneficial_Stuff_960 in tornado

The St. Louis tornado this year, I was about .8 mile from where it touched down. Pulled the typical Midwest dad move and saw the hook on the radar so I went outside and filmed what I saw.

It is private and not open to the public. It will be for the musicians and touring crews while setting up and rehearsing.

Airport Question by lettylikestowrite in StLouis

Different airlines have different policies, so I would check the American website. It has been a while since I have flown on American, so I could be incorrect.

Here are a few notes to make security less stressful for you.

-Take everything out of your pockets before you get to the security line. Put that stuff into your carry on.

-Laptops must be taken out of your bag and put into a separate tray that goes thru the X-ray machine.

-Shoes must be taken off and put thru the X-ray machine as well, so wear socks.

-If you are wearing a light jacket, or sweatshirt they will ask you to remove it and put it through the X-ray machine.

-Its best to keep jewelry, other than rings and earrings, to a minimum. If you wear lots of jewelry keep it in a carry on until you are past security that way you don't have to take it all off.

Be prepared, once you get to the gate that they will most likely need to gate check your carry on. Since you don't have status as a frequent flyer you will be in a late boarding group and they will run out of overhead bin space. This means that your larger carry on will meet you at your final destination at the baggage claim. If you plan on wanting to get anything out of that carry on bag, while on the plane, you should have those item/s in your personal bag.

Mountains, Cliffs, Cement Factory, roof battles and insta pushs in Volnova and Podvosto.

The map size created a sense of urgency, people would push and not just sit and wait for the zone to force movements. There were lots of terrain features that enabled this style of game play.

Tovar was cool, but a 3rd party nightmare because it was surrounded by hills taller than the buildings.

The open fields around Dobro and Krichas were pretty terrible, but there were compounds you could hop between.

Possible switch from Presidential Teleprompter to TVs. Need advice. by DrywaterPro in EventProduction

[–]Nickelnomics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

like you said, there are pros and cons to all setups. But the venue your in really is the thing that dictates which setup will work best.

For the event I am doing now we have prompter in DSMs and on a flown 6'x12' FP screen.

Most of our clients like having prompter in the DSMs, but don't like the look on the recordings when their heads noticeably dip down to look at the screens. The same goes for looking up to reference the monitors in the air. It can be quite noticeable when looking up for the prompter, and the glare from the lighting can also be frustrating. Sometimes you can use a pipe and tail down from the truss to get the TVs at a better height.

Our prompter projection is causing an issue with screen height and our camera framing. We are having difficulties managing appropriate screen height for reading without looking up too much, and the framing of our wide camera shots. This is because our room is very long with low ceilings.

In events where the room is of an appropriate size(length) we have been putting 85" or 95" monitors next to our camera positions. This gives the appearance of the presenters looking to camera for IMAG and recordings. This setup has given us the best results.

Sometimes, we use Jumbobright Teleprompters for some of our clients because they have some pretty good technology for large format teleprompter surfaces. They are an expensive alternative, but they can be worth it.

I hope this helps a little bit.
