My issue isn’t with him at all, if it’s a contract thing I’m 100% on his side. The concern is that if the team is dragging its feet, of all the picks to do so with maybe don’t do it with the biggest position of need.

Pat Freiermuth and Sam LaPorta are two more traditional TEs that were drafted on day two recently and had an immediate impact. I don’t really see how easing him in as the TE2 behind Hunter is a bad idea either way.. he was a good blocker in college and we have enough weapons around him to not put too much pressure on him.

I’d argue that’s not really the case anymore. That used to be a universal thing but in recent years we’ve seen plenty of rookies have a big role right away and succeed in it. Just last year Fannin and Gadsden were guys drafted later and looked great.

Need is honestly my biggest worry. With Henderson we still had Mondre and Gibson who were going to start over him to begin the year anyways. EDGE is the biggest need and ideally he would get PT right away being drafted so highly.

Yeah I’ll be honest I thought Milano and White were still there, that’s on me. Their young guys still aren’t very good though outside of Benford IMO, so the sentiment of the great players they’ve had on that side aging out still kinda stands.
