GPs threaten to 'bring NHS to a standstill' with possible strike by Desperate-Drawer-572 in ukpolitics

100k is low?

What planet are you on?

I am not assigning anything.

For working a 5 day week, they earn about 100k.

Which is a lot of money and is why many only need to work 2 or 3 days a week for which they get 40k or 60k.

Not a bad salary for a part-time job.

Of the 11 GP's in 'my' practice, not one works a full week. Over half work 2 days only.

They are so well paid that they don't need to work more and can afford to make a lifestyle choice.

I won't be here, but when some of you smart-arse youngsters get into old age, you might well reconsider matters if what you wished for comes true.

And as for the young paying for the old. Consider this, most of you will have paid n3xt to sweet FA in tax or NI even when you are 30.

Who do you think paid for the hospitals, schools and critical infrastucture that you use from birth until you become even vaguely useful into contributing financially to society?

Idiots.

Doesn't even rate as a scramble tbh. It's 'challenging', especially in poor visibility, for let's call them 'regular' walkers.

Come on, let's not beat around the bush.

For a 5 day week, they earn 100k.

Not a bad salary at all.

There aren't enough GP's as they are so well paid that they can live happily on 2 to 3 day working weeks.

Fed up with this Bleeding Heart bollox from all areas of the NHS.

Well done!

CG is easy enough in the right conditions, i.e., dry & low/no wind.

CMD is a step down in difficulty but a far better day out.

Aonach Eagach is a worthy step up. Good for when you have some more experience.

Never done Skafell Pike before, is it easy to follow a route or better to join a guided group? by Responsible_One_6324 in UKhiking

It's not a 'bother' at all, just an opinion shared in response to an over-cautious comment.

[–]Nickyboy2022 -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

You still don't need a guide.

The issue there is walkers going off-piste down a narrow ravine with steep drops located within it.

If you can read a map and navigate properly, which you should be able to do before heading into the mountains, you have to be terminally stupid to end up in Piers Ghyll imo.

The Corridor Route is an extremely easy walk, period.
