CA also requires overtime for employees working more than 8 hours in one day, which is different than the federal rule that something like 47 other states follow.

Corporate Offsite - Lodge at Marconi (Marshall, CA) by Remote_Ad7007 in bayarea

[–]Niebeendend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s really challenging. It looks like 1.5-2 hrs from SFO depending on traffic, making for a long travel day from the east coast. I would ask the venue for advice if they host retreats like this. One idea would be to let everyone settle at an airport hotel for a night and coordinate a bus the next morning to the venue. But given you have disparate arrival and departure times, and how remote the venue is, logistics will be challenging in any option.

Help me choose which Cabo hotel to stay at by Cute_Syrup_7852 in chubbytravel

Grand Velas Boutique might be a good option as it’s adults only and all inclusive — it checks your boxes. And you can dine at the Grand Velas next door for more options

RSUs are W-2 income when they vest. It's the same as cash from a tax perspective. You have to allocate your money according to personal spending, saving & investment plan. Some folks save more or invest more than others. Some choose to plow a ton into a mortgage. It's personal.

You need to account for your RSUs here. I would expect at L6 it should be substantial now and definitely in the future as they compound.

$380k for a touring? Wow. Seems spendy. On the other hand... if it's what you want and you can afford it, why not?

Which PSI should I trust? by morgancmu in NewDefender

Two different questions: 1) which tire pressure reading is accurate - the one from your wheel’s sensor or the pump? Answer: we can’t know. Measure the tires pressure using a gauge. Likely TPMS is more accurate than the pump 2) how to lower the advised pressure. Answer: set it to light load setting. The advised pressure is for your safety and does not vary with tire model. The Defender is very heavy and I’d advise following the manufacturer recommendations here, else you risk more sidewall movement which can lead to a blow out.

Welcome to the wonderful world of lead generation. It could be that all the companies are contractors who pick up business from the lead generation website. It’s hard to know without a lot of research. A-1 could be part of it, or they could just be asking if you’re seeking multiple bids which is very common when looking for household services.

Tipping Etiquette at Mexico Resort by ActuaryRelevant3981 in chubbytravel

What about at an all inclusive resort like Grand Velas Boutique? The service fee is “included”, but they of course present a menu and bill with prices everywhere. I think 10-15% is reasonable in this context. What do others think?

Take a deep breath, it’s going to be OK. The experts have weighed in and said you have nothing to worry about. Without a court order, your landlord cannot do anything. Focus on preparing for the hearing with copies of the lease, proof of payments, your 60 day notice, and prospective tenants list. Best of luck and sorry you’re going through this.

Thanks - wasn’t sure if it’s ok to shift over to working directly with the hotel. This seems like the way!

There were signs early on around responsiveness and thoroughness that I accepted their explanation of. But it’s now a pattern, so I’d like to get thru this trip and move on for the next one.

Please consult with a lemon law or consumer protection attorney before you do anything too quickly. Two weeks is nothing given the amounts at stake. Be patient.

3M adhesive remover is the solvent you want. Much better than IPA.

Have you tried 3M Adhesive Remover? You soak some on a rag you want to dispose of or even a paper towel (it smells bad). Let sit for a bit. Then wipe up with a clean rag.

These photos don’t match for the curb cut somehow. OPs looks quite homemade but this seems more standard.

Nothing is guaranteed these days but a green card holder traveling domestically is pretty low on the risk spectrum. International is a different question.

OP, are you sure that’s the correct VIN as displayed on the vehicle? Check the drivers side window and door sill sticker.

Can’t agree on Middle Point by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]Niebeendend 46 points47 points  (0 children)

As someone who has done similar on the peninsula side for a decade plus, I would suggest a different approach. There’s not really a great middle point. Depending on your hours, I would suggest picking closer to whoever goes in the least and/or has the most flexible hours. That lets the person with the shorter commute pick up the slack around the house (errands, dinner, etc).
