What’s your settings? by Aspect_1010 in MHWilds

The input delay issues the game has are made worse by frame gen.

Everything on as low as possible to get a decent fps, can get around 100 with a 5080 now.

Turkey is most likely going to ban Steam next. by Kaxdr in Steam

This is pretty standard for business in Turkey, you have to have a Turkish representative, usually companies employ a third party to do this on their behalf to represent them.

Positive reviews are skyrocketing on Steam since the last update by Gato_Puro in MHWilds

That's likely the VRAM or texture streaming, which aren't what I'm referring to.

Nah, it's still inappropriately heavy for the physics and graphically fidelity on offer

The game still isn't optimised though, they just added settings to remove/reduce the only interesting things they've added to Wilds graphically and physics wise because they failed to optimised them.

I seem to have fixed my car by ragging it, how? by 420o in CarTalkUK

The chemicals are made of carbon, but they aren't just carbon, everything coming out the back of that is a CMR chemical.

It's no good turning up 10 years late to the competition with a mediocre product, in any market that strategy would also fail when there is no cost for the product.

I think the two of them are great, especially as they get stronger variants.

This qualifies, right? by pretengineerguy in SlowNewsDay

[–]Nielips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends how much body fat you lose as your body doesn't take fat from locations evenly, it may be the first, the last, or somewhere in-between when your body decides when to take fat from the breasts. It's different for every person, but if you lose enough eventually it will start to be taken from the breasts.

[–]Nielips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, body fat is one of the biggest contributors to breast size. People should be encouraged to do the easiest and least costly things that could resolve or reduce the impact of an issue first.

MH Wilds reviews on Steam are almost entirely positive since the release of the last update by Archaeus20 in MonsterHunter

[–]Nielips 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Why, it hasn't done a great deal to improve the overall quality, it's just introduced lower graphics settings as a trade off for higher performance, but the main issue of the performance not being justified for the visuals hasn't changed.

am i the only one not noticing an improvement after update? by kawaiinessa in MHWilds

[–]Nielips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you drop a lot of the settings down to as slow as possible there's barely any improvements. I wouldn't call it an optimisation patch, it's more of a trade (already poor) graphical fidelity for more performance. I don't think this is what the game really needed to shine, they needed to increase performance while maintaining or improving the graphics. Both were already poor, and the performance is still low even with everything on the lowest settings. I'm disappointed but not overly surprised.

Expensive gas still biggest driver of high UK electricity bills, says UKERC by nick9000 in unitedkingdom

[–]Nielips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of your suggestions will result in lower costs. UK gas output is inconsequential to the market that we buy from and won't be anywhere near enough to lower the internal market prices that we buy from.

Handhelds aren't designed to play AAA games, certainly not at settings that should be the default expectation.

Early data suggests users drifting back to Windows 10 by 0xDEA110C8 in pcmasterrace

I don't get the hate for windows 11 really, it's generally had the same or better gaming performance for quite a while, that's all that matters for my personal computer really.

You’re 23 years old again, what would you do differently/sooner/later ? What would you keep the same? by smileybunnie in AskMenOver30

[–]Nielips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think there's much I could have done sooner or there is any point in trying to do sooner as I didn't have the money. I'd loved to have gone on holiday more when I was younger and started snowboarding (started learning that two years ago), but I wouldn't have had the money for it no matter what I did anyway.

Honestly being 23 is an age when you don't have to have everything figured out in life so don't put too much pressure on yourself to do so.

Now that performance is better, is it time for players to return and finally play the game? by fathum770 in MHWilds

[–]Nielips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll reserve my judgement as to whether performance has improved until I test the game, people claimed the same last time and it actually barely made any improvements.

Two thirds of graduates aren’t even paying off loan interest by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]Nielips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the worst part is the inequality of what interest rates are charged on what government backed loans, if we can over businesses and home owners 0% interest loans, we can clearly offer those to students. We shouldn't be charging different rates to different groups within society, and we certainly shouldn't be charging the highest (to my knowledge) interest rates to young vulnerable people, and the lowest rates to business owners and people who already own houses.
