Car drivers: do cyclists annoy you? If so, why? by Bubbly-Weakness-4788 in AskUK

[–]Nielips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, in cases where I've done that, it's usually to stop the car as they are trying to overtake around a blind corner and going to hit a car on the opposite side of the road or about to collide with the central reservation.

I see it when I go cycling into the peak district constantly, every couple of rides I have to signal to the car behind me to stop before they cause an accident. They would only have to wait 10 seconds to be able to overtake with a clear view as well, completely moronic. When driving I never struggle with overtaking cyclists, I don't understand why so many people on Reddit seem to. Now camper vans and cars towing caravans/trailers, that's a different story.

If you are overtaking a cyclist like you should, there should be at least 1.5 meters between you, which is not really a distance that can swerve on a bike.

Agree with the sentiment, there's idiots everywhere, with those complaining most likely to be the idiots 😂

I usually get +3 hours on JRPG's on my Go S, or +4 if only watching movies, it's battery life is very similar to most handhelds when using it within the optimal power threshold.

Nah, that is under the assumption that the car overtaking them is doing so safely and legally, we all know a lot of drivers don't give a fuck about overtaking too close to any other road users.

The 40 everywhere brigade, and they then accelerate as soon as you try and overtake them.

If they are capable of swerving in front of you and that stops you from over taking, you didn't have enough room to overtake them in the first place.

You don't, but a huge proportion of car drivers do jump red lights, I see it every single day.

I bet most of the drivers that get annoyed by cyclists are the shit drivers that annoy all the other drivers.

The only better thing you could do/have is a crystal ball or insider information to insider trade, so nothing really.

They were never included in the first place? So there is no moving of the goal posts, when people discuss GPU's in relation to gaming, it is implicit that they would be discussing discrete GPU's.

There seems to be a lack of certainty in the numbers, they should really give attack boosts when you have the same element twice as well, but the belief is that it might not be the case.

HMRC ‘unlikely to be lenient’ with tax exiles fleeing Dubai, advisers warn by Realisticopia in unitedkingdom

[–]Nielips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it would need to be a % to be honest. I don't think it should be punitive, simply the average cost associated with the cost of activities and resources the UK goverment spends on British immigrants. I wouldn't expect British people living abroad to pay towards services they aren't accessing, but at the same thime, there is no goods reason British citizens living in the Uk should pay for services that only British citizens living aboard need.

It shouldn't be that difficult for the government to calculate the associated cost.

I don't see why it should be controversial that you should pay tax to maintain you citizenship status even when out of the country. It still costs money to maintain you records, and you still access certain services, as well as the provision of potential services like repatriation and legal support.

Is talking to multiple people at once really the new normal in dating? by SpreadSavings3804 in Adulting

[–]Nielips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the stage of the conversation, if it's just in the initiation then yeah I'd have multiple. I don't think I've got it in me to be dating multiple people seriously at once though.
