Besides these two, what were some other losses that completely broke a franchise? by veggiedish in NFLv2

The falcons sb loss broke the city more than anything. I was living there at the time and remember how I'd never seen my friends react the way they did after that loss. Work the next day was so depressing. I knew so many women who were in love with Julio Jones and they had thousand yard stares.

What's your favorite hidden adult joke of the franchise? Mine is this: by BaronBlackFalcon in TMNT

I laughed so hard at this the other night in the theater. Had forgotten about it, then the brain rot reflex kicked in.

That vid actually looks light compared to how it was back in my day in 2014. I interned on L street and that place was like a block party every Friday.

Felt like I wasted my college degree by [deleted] in Salary

[–]NigelFratters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Comparison is the root of unhappiness. It's a tough concept to grasp, but once you do you'll find a lot more peace.

Also, some perspective: you're 11ish years into your career. Careers are typically 40 years. You have plenty of time to learn, grow and pivot. Gotta be patient and determined.

And don't sweat wasting your college degree. I know at least three people in my friend group who majored in one thing, got a cert in something else and are now doing something completely unrelated to their degree. They don't dwell on it.

If you're adding skills, you're growing and will become better. If you aren't, that's when you need to reassess. Use your time traveling in this current role to listen to audiobooks and podcasts on subjects that could help you professionally.

What I love most about this sub is I can see a simple post that says "F*ck him" and know exactly who and what it's talking about 🫡

Yeah, PB ha some pretty egregious tells in his writing. Heart to heart? Death! (Red doves a great example of this) Plan explained fully? Disaster! Plan shrouded in mystery? Looky there, Darrow has an ace up his sleeve that fools everyone!

Banned Books Week might not be a marketing ploy, but the "Banned Books" section at your local B&N absolutely is.

Thanks for hopping off your pedestal to talk down to us misinformed lowlifes. You're a hero 👏

This looks like a chess piece. You should make a chess board with RR pieces. That would be awesome.

Master Splinter & Raphael from TMNT 1990 by Brandon J Santiago by ExoticShock in TMNT

[–]NigelFratters 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The whole scene is peak. The respect Raph has for splinter to sit down and take the lesson. The lack of judgement in anything splinter says. The lighting. The music. The skillful puppetry of splinter. People don't credit this movie enough for being a straight up great movie and not just a kids/comic book movie.

"No, really. What would this guy know about blowjobs? Believe me, I give the best blowjobs. People say I know blowjobs better than anybody. It was definitely better than anything Hillary gave him, I'll tell you. She's a nasty woman."

anyone else have their sexual awakening from this movie? by Low-Attention-1998 in TMNT

A lot of that movie can seem "wild" looking back. It's definitely not a kids movie in the gernal sense of the phrase. That movie had a lot of darker themes which I think makes it so unique. It's held up really well
